Note: 6 AA alkaline batteries are required for operation and are NOT included in the package. Do not use rechargeable batteries.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the lid.
2. Twist the knob to open the battery cover.
3. Insert 6 AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated.
4. Close the battery cover and twist the knob to lock.

2. Power ON/OFF

Locate the on/off switch on the back of the lid. Slide the switch to the 'ON' position to activate the motion sensor functionality.

3. Trash Bag Placement

The EKO Horizon trash can features a no-liner design to maximize capacity. To install a trash bag:

1. Remove the motion sensor lid from the trash can body.
2. Place your trash bag (recommended 11.9-13 gallon tall kitchen bags) into the can, ensuring the top edge of the bag is folded over the rim of the can body.
3. The lid is designed to hide excess trash bag, providing a clean appearance.
4. Carefully place the motion sensor lid back onto the trash can body, ensuring it is securely seated.

The lid design effectively conceals the trash bag for a neat look.

Operating Instructions

1. Motion Sensor Operation

To open the lid automatically, simply place your hand or an object within 10 inches (25 cm) above the sensor located on the front of the lid. The lid will open smoothly and quietly. It will remain open for 5 seconds, indicated by a countdown light display, before soft-closing automatically.

2. Manual Touch Button Operation

For situations requiring the lid to stay open longer, such as during food preparation or extended cleaning, you can use the manual touch buttons:

• To keep lid open: Press the 'OPEN' button. The lid will open and remain open until manually closed.
• To close the lid: Press the 'CLOSE' button. The lid will soft-close.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning
