The TKSTAR TK903B requires a 2G GSM SIM card to function. Ensure the SIM card supports 2G networks; 3G or 4G networks are not supported. A Speedtalk SIM card is recommended. The SIM card must be activated and have sufficient balance for data and SMS services.

2.2 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the device using the provided USB cable. Connect the USB cable to the tracker and a 5V-1A power adapter. The charging indicator light will show the charging status (e.g., solid red while charging, off when fully charged).

2.3 Power On/Off

  • Power Off: Press and hold the power button for approximately 3 seconds until the lights turn off.

2.4 Initial Configuration

Insert the activated 2G SIM card into the device's SIM card slot. Once powered on, the device will attempt to connect to the network. Refer to the accompanying quick start guide for initial SMS commands to set up the administrator number and APN settings, which are crucial for proper operation.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Real-time Tracking

3.2 History Route Playback

The device stores historical tracking data for up to 6 months. You can review and play back the device's movement history through the mobile application or web monitoring center to see past routes and stops.

3.3 Alarm Functions

The TK903B offers several alarm features for enhanced security and monitoring:

  • Shock Sensor Alarm: This alarm notifies you if the device detects significant vibration or movement. After activating this feature, the tracker must remain stationary for 5 minutes for the alarm to arm. An SMS alert will be sent to the administrator number when triggered.

This image demonstrates the overspeed alarm function, where the device sends an SMS notification to the administrator if a preset speed limit is exceeded.

  • Geo-fence: Define a virtual boundary (geo-fence) on the map. You will receive an SMS alert if the tracker enters or exits this designated area.
  • Low Power Smart Alarm: When the battery level drops below 30%, the device will send an SMS notification to the authorized number, indicating a low power condition.

3.4 Timing Boot/Shut Down

This function allows you to schedule specific times for the device to power on and off daily. This conserves battery life and extends standby time. When powered off by this function, the device does not transmit GPS signals, enhancing its discreet operation.
