Setup Guide

1. Unboxing and Powering On

Your Wuloo WL888 package includes:

  • 1 x Intercom Unit
  • 1 x Power Adapter
  • 1 x User Manual

Connect the power adapter to the DC 5V port on the intercom unit and plug it into a standard electrical outlet. The unit will power on automatically. Alternatively, you can power the unit using a 5V 1A power bank for portable use.

2. Channel and Code Setting

To ensure proper communication, all intercom units intended to communicate with each other must be set to the same channel and code. The WL888 offers 22 channels and 100 digital codes.

  1. Press the MENU button. The channel number on the left side of the screen will flash.
  2. Use the CH+ or CH- buttons to select your desired channel (01-22).
  3. Press the MENU button again. The code number on the right side of the screen will flash.
  4. Use the CH+ or CH- buttons to select your desired digital code (01-100).
  5. Press the MENU button or TALK button to exit the setting mode.
  6. Repeat these steps for all other intercom units, ensuring they are set to the same channel and code for group communication, or different channels/codes for individual calling.

Operating Instructions

1. Talk Function (Push-to-Talk)

To initiate a conversation, press and hold the TALK button. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the TALK button when you are finished speaking to allow the other party to respond. Ensure both units are on the same channel and code.

2. VOX Mode (Voice Operated Exchange)

VOX mode allows for hands-free communication. When activated, the intercom will automatically transmit your voice when it detects sound, without needing to press the TALK button.

  • To activate VOX mode, press the VOX button. The VOX logo will appear on the screen.
  • Speak close to the microphone to activate transmission. The indicator light will turn red.
  • VOX mode has a 24-hour time limit and will automatically exit after this period. You will need to reactivate it if continuous VOX operation is desired.
  • For two-way VOX communication, both units must be in VOX mode. Allow a 3-second pause after the other person finishes speaking before you begin to talk.

3. Monitor Mode

Monitor mode is useful for continuously listening to a specific room, such as a baby's room or an elderly person's room.

  • Place the intercom unit you wish to monitor in the target room.
  • On the monitoring unit, press the MONITOR button. The indicator light will turn red, and the unit will enter transmit mode, continuously sending audio.
  • The monitoring unit cannot send audio messages or receive calls while in Monitor mode.
  • Monitor mode has a 10-hour time limit. Reset it every 10 hours for continuous monitoring.

4. Group Function

The Group function allows you to broadcast a message to all intercom units within your system simultaneously, regardless of their individual channel and code settings.

  • Press and hold the GROUP button.
  • Speak your message. All units in the system will receive the broadcast.
