1. Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the assembly, installation, operation, and maintenance of your Tangkula Foldable Wall Mounted Desk. Please read all instructions carefully before beginning assembly and retain this manual for future reference.

2. Safety Information

• Exercise caution around sharp edges during assembly and use.
• Do not load more than 44 lbs (20 kg) on the tabletop.

4. Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps carefully to assemble your wall-mounted desk. An assembly video is available for visual guidance.

1. Step 1: Assemble Inner Structure. Connect panels (5) and (6) using wooden dowels (B) and long screws (J).
2. Step 2: Prepare Side Panels. Install eccentric wheels (A) and wooden dowels (B) into the designated holes on panels (3) and (4).
3. Step 3: Attach Small Shelves. Connect three small shelf panels (8) to panels (4) and (6) using wooden dowels (B) and eccentric screws (A) on panel (5). Ensure the installed panels (8) are tilted as shown in the diagram.
4. Step 4: Connect Bottom Panel. Connect the bottom panel (2) to the assembled structure using wooden dowels (B) and long screws (J).
5. Step 5: Insert Back Panel. Carefully insert the back panel (7) along the pre-cut groove in the main structure.
6. Step 6: Attach Top Panel and Lock Catch. Connect the top panel (1) to the assembled unit using wooden dowels (B) and long screws (J). Install the lock catch (E) on panel (1) using small screws (I).
7. Step 7: Install Hinge Mechanisms. Attach hinge mechanisms (F) and (G) to the three corners of the back panel using screws (H). Note that parts (G) are installed in the upper left and lower left corners, and part (F) is installed in the upper right corner.
8. Step 8: Prepare Desk Panel. Connect the desk panel (10) with screws (D). Attach cam locks (C) to panel (6).
9. Step 9: Install Adjustable Shelves. Install the adjustable shelves (9) between panels (3) and (6) at your desired height.

5. Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the stability and safety of your wall-mounted desk. It is recommended to have two people for installation.

1. Choose Wall Type: This unit is designed for installation on solid walls such as cement or wooden walls. It is NOT recommended for installation directly into drywall without proper reinforcement (e.g., locating studs or using heavy-duty drywall anchors suitable for the weight).
2. Mark Mounting Points: Unfold the desk against the wall at the desired height. Mark the positions for the wall mounting brackets (K). A recommended height for the top mounting point is approximately 56.8 inches (144 cm) from the ground.
3. Install Wall Brackets: Secure the wall mounting brackets (K) to the wall using appropriate longer screws (L) and wall anchors (M) for your specific wall type. Ensure the brackets are level and align with the pre-drilled holes on the desk unit.
4. Mount Desk Unit: Carefully lift the assembled desk unit and align the hinge mechanisms (F, G) with the installed wall brackets (K). Secure the desk unit to the wall brackets using the provided screws.

6. Operation

The Tangkula Foldable Wall Mounted Desk is designed for easy conversion between a compact cabinet and a functional desk.

To Unfold the Desk:

1. Locate the cabinet buckle (part E) on the top panel of the folded unit.
2. Unlatch the buckle to release the desk panel (10).
3. Gently lower the desk panel (10) downwards until it is fully extended and the supporting leg is securely in place.

To Fold the Desk:

1. Clear all items from the desk panel (10).
2. Lift the desk panel (10) upwards, folding the supporting leg inwards.
3. Continue lifting until the desk panel is flush with the main cabinet unit.
4. Secure the desk panel by engaging the cabinet buckle (part E).

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the desk surfaces with a dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that may damage the finish.
• Hardware Check: Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they remain tight. Retighten if necessary to maintain stability.
• Hinge Care: Ensure hinges operate smoothly. If they become stiff, a small amount of silicone lubricant can be applied.

8. Troubleshooting

• Desk does not close flush: Check the alignment of the lock catch (E) and its corresponding component. Ensure all screws are tightened correctly. If necessary, adjust or add thin felt pads to the bottom edge of the desk panel to achieve a flush closure.
• Desk feels wobbly after installation: Verify that the wall mounting brackets (K) are securely fastened to a suitable wall type (cement or wood studs). Ensure all screws connecting the desk unit to the brackets are tight. If installed on drywall, consider adding additional reinforcement or consulting a professional.
