Setup

1. Unfolding the Tripod

Gently extend the tripod legs from their folded position. The ST-125 features an innovative triangular center column design, allowing for a more compact folded size while maintaining stability.

2. Adjusting Leg Angles

Each leg can be independently adjusted to different angles (22, 55, 85 degrees) to adapt to uneven terrain or for low-angle shooting. Press the leg angle lock and position the leg to the desired angle until it clicks into place.

3. Extending Leg Sections

Twist the leg locks counter-clockwise to loosen a leg section, extend it to the desired length, and then twist clockwise to secure it. The waterproof twist leg locks are designed to prevent water, dust, and small particles from entering the legs.

4. Attaching a Camera or Ball Head

The tripod features reversible 1/4" and 3/8" screws on the mounting plate, making it compatible with most mirrorless cameras and professional ball heads. Ensure your camera or ball head is securely fastened.

Operating Instructions

1. Adjusting Tripod Height

The ST-125 offers flexible height adjustment from 29.1 cm (11.5 inches) to 150 cm (59 inches). Loosen the center column lock, adjust the column to the desired height, and tighten the lock securely. The center column can also be reversed for ultra-low shooting positions.

2. Using Retractable Spikes

For enhanced stability on soft ground (e.g., dirt, grass, ice), twist the rubber feet to reveal the retractable anti-slip spikes. Ensure the spikes are fully extended and firmly planted for maximum grip. Retract them when shooting on delicate surfaces to prevent damage.

3. Attaching Accessories

The tripod is equipped with 1/4" and 3/8" screw ports for connecting external accessories such as monitors, lights, or microphones. A hook is also included at the bottom of the center column, allowing you to add weight for increased stability in windy conditions.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: After use, especially in harsh environments (e.g., sand, saltwater), wipe down the tripod with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Ensure the leg locks are clean to maintain their waterproof seal.
  • Drying: If the tripod gets wet, extend all leg sections and allow them to air dry completely before collapsing and storing.
  • Storage: Store the tripod in its carrying bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Lubrication: Do not apply lubricants to the leg sections or twist locks unless specifically instructed by SIRUI support, as this may affect performance or waterproof sealing.

Troubleshooting

  • Leg sections not locking securely: Ensure the twist locks are fully tightened. If the issue persists, check for any debris inside the locking mechanism and clean as necessary.
  • Tripod instability: Verify that all leg sections are fully extended and locked, and that the leg angles are set correctly. Ensure the camera or ball head is securely mounted. Consider adding weight to the center column hook for increased stability.
  • Stiffness in leg extension: Clean the leg sections and twist locks thoroughly. If stiffness continues, contact SIRUI customer support.
  • Missing parts: If any part of the tripod becomes detached or lost, especially during transport or use, contact SIRUI customer support for assistance. Always ensure all components are securely fastened before and after use.
