4. Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the extractor from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. Report any damage immediately to your supplier.
- Positioning: Place the machine on a flat, stable surface.
- Fill Solution Tank: Open the solution tank cap (typically located at the front or top of the machine). Fill the tank with clean water and the recommended carpet cleaning solution according to the solution manufacturer's instructions. Do not overfill.
- Check Recovery Tank: Ensure the recovery tank (waste water tank) is empty before starting operation.
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a properly grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet matches the voltage requirements of the machine.
5. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for effective carpet cleaning:
- Pre-Vacuum: Thoroughly vacuum the carpet area to be cleaned to remove loose dirt and debris.
- Pre-Treat (Optional): For heavily soiled areas, apply a pre-spray or spot cleaner as needed. Allow appropriate dwell time.
- Turn On Switches: Locate the control panel on the rear of the machine. Turn on the 'Pump' switch, then the 'Brush' switch, and finally the 'Vacuum' switch.
- Cleaning Passes: Begin cleaning by slowly pushing the machine forward over the carpet. As you push, the machine will spray solution, agitate with the brush, and vacuum up the dirty water. Overlap each pass slightly to ensure complete coverage.
- Multiple Passes: For heavily soiled carpets, multiple passes may be necessary. For faster drying, make one or two dry passes (with the pump switch off) to extract more moisture.
- Monitor Tanks: Keep an eye on the solution tank level and the recovery tank level. When the solution tank is empty or the recovery tank is full, turn off the machine.
- Empty Recovery Tank: Disconnect power. Empty the recovery tank into a suitable drain. Rinse the recovery tank with clean water.
- Refill Solution Tank: If more cleaning is required, refill the solution tank and repeat the process.
- Shut Down: Once cleaning is complete, turn off all switches, unplug the machine, and perform post-operation maintenance.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your extractor.
After Each Use:
- Empty and Rinse Tanks: Completely empty and rinse both the solution and recovery tanks with clean water. This prevents residue buildup and odors.
- Clean Vacuum Shoe: Inspect and clean the vacuum shoe for any debris or lint.
- Clean Brush: Remove any hair, carpet fibers, or debris from the brush head.
- Wipe Down Machine: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth to remove any dirt or solution residue.
- Check Power Cord: Inspect the power cord for any cuts, fraying, or damage.
Monthly / As Needed:
- Nozzle Inspection: Check the spray nozzles for clogs. If clogged, remove and clean them.
- Brush Wear: Inspect the brush for wear. Replace if bristles are significantly worn down.
- Hose Connections: Ensure all hose connections are secure and free of leaks.
Storage:
Store the machine in a clean, dry area, away from extreme temperatures. Ensure tanks are empty and clean before storage.
