4. Installation Instructions

It is recommended that installation be performed by a qualified electrician. Always ensure power is disconnected before beginning installation.

  1. Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker or fuse box that supplies power to the fixture location and turn off the power.
  2. Prepare Mounting: Carefully unpack the fixture and its components. Attach the mounting bracket (included in hardware kit) to the junction box in the ceiling using the provided screws. Ensure the bracket is securely fastened.
  3. Make Electrical Connections:
    • Connect the bare copper or green ground wire from the fixture to the ground wire from the junction box (usually bare copper or green) using a wire nut.
    • Connect the white wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) wire from the junction box using a wire nut.
    • Connect the black wire from the fixture to the black (hot) wire from the junction box using a wire nut.
    • Ensure all connections are tight and secure. Wrap electrical tape around wire nuts for added security.
  4. Secure Fixture: Carefully lift the fixture and align the mounting holes on the fixture canopy with the screws on the mounting bracket. Secure the fixture to the mounting bracket using the decorative nuts or screws provided.
  5. Install Bulbs: Insert four (4) E12 base incandescent bulbs (not included) into the sockets. Do not exceed 60 watts per bulb.
  6. Install Glass Components: Carefully attach the clear glass rods or shade components to the fixture according to the specific design. Handle glass with care to prevent breakage.
  7. Restore Power: Once installation is complete and all components are securely in place, restore power at the circuit breaker.

5. Operating Instructions

This Hudson Valley Lighting fixture is designed for simple operation. Once properly installed and powered, the fixture is controlled by a standard wall switch (not included) connected to the electrical circuit. Flip the wall switch to the 'ON' position to illuminate the fixture and to the 'OFF' position to turn it off.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: To clean the fixture, ensure power is turned off. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the metal finish and glass components. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or polishes as they may damage the finish or glass.
  • Bulb Replacement: Before replacing bulbs, turn off power at the circuit breaker and allow bulbs to cool completely. Unscrew old bulbs and replace with new E12 base incandescent bulbs, not exceeding 60 watts per bulb.
