Setup
1. Initial Charging
Before first use, connect the device to a USB power source (computer USB port or a 5V/1A USB adapter) using the provided USB cable. The battery indicator on the screen will show charging status. A full charge typically takes a few hours.
2. Inserting/Removing TF Card (Micro SD Card)
Your E36 recorder comes with a 128GB TF card pre-plugged. If you need to remove or insert a different card:
- Locate the TF card slot on the side of the device.
- To remove, gently push the card inward until it clicks, then release. The card will spring out.
- To insert, align the card correctly (gold contacts facing down, usually) and push it into the slot until it clicks into place.
3. Setting Date and Time
Accurate date and time settings are crucial for organizing your recordings. Refer to the on-screen menu for 'System Settings' to adjust the date and time. Use the navigation buttons to select and confirm values.
4. Setting Password Protection
To protect your recordings, you can set a 3-digit power-on password:
- Navigate to the 'System Settings' menu.
- Select 'Password Protection' or similar option.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to set your 3-digit password. Remember your password, as there is no recovery option.
- After three incorrect attempts, the device will automatically turn off for security.

Operating Instructions
1. Basic Recording
- To start recording, slide the REC button upwards. The recording indicator will light up.
- To stop and save the recording, slide the STOP button downwards. Recordings are automatically saved with a timestamp (YYYY-MM-DD-HH-MM-SS) for easy management.
2. Voice Activated Recording (VOR)
The VOR function allows the recorder to start recording only when sound is detected, saving memory and battery life.
- Enable VOR mode through the device's menu settings.
- The recorder will automatically begin recording when sound levels exceed approximately 60dB and pause when silent.

3. Playback Functions
- Variable Play Speed: Use the menu to adjust playback speed across 16 levels. This allows you to quickly review long recordings or slow down to catch every detail.
- A-B Repeat: During playback, set a start point (A) and an end point (B) to continuously loop a specific section of the recording.

4. Line-in Recording
Connect the recorder to other audio devices (e.g., computer, radio, player) using the provided line-in cable to record audio directly from them.
5. Connecting to a Personal Computer
To transfer files, connect the E36 to your computer using the USB cable. The device will appear as a removable disk, allowing you to drag and drop files to and from the recorder.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the recorder in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device regularly, even if not in use for extended periods.
Troubleshooting
- Device will not turn on:
- Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a power source and try again. If the issue persists, perform a reset by inserting a thin pin into the reset hole (if available, refer to device diagram).
- Poor recording quality:
- Check microphone placement. Ensure the recording environment is not excessively noisy. Adjust recording settings (e.g., sensitivity level) in the menu. Ensure the device is not covered or obstructed during recording.
- Display is difficult to read:

- Cannot transfer files to computer:
