1. Setup Guide
This section provides instructions for preparing your FRANKEVER 16-Gauge Hidden Flat Speaker Wire for installation.
1.1 What's Included
- FRANKEVER 16-Gauge Hidden Flat Speaker Wire (50 ft)
- 2 x Quick Connectors
1.2 Recommended Tools
- Scissors or Utility Knife (for cutting wire and removing backing)
- Small Flathead Screwdriver (for securing connectors)
- Heat Gun or Hair Dryer (optional, for removing wrinkles after installation)
- Paint Roller and Paint (optional, for concealing the wire)
1.3 Installation Steps
Follow these steps to properly install your flat speaker wire and connectors.
- Prepare the Wire End: Cut a piece of flat wire to the desired length. Carefully remove approximately 2cm (0.8 inches) of the white backing from one end of the flat wire to expose the copper conductors.
- Expose Copper Conductors: Using scissors or a utility knife, carefully cut along the sides of the exposed copper conductors to remove the white edges. This will leave two distinct copper conductors.
- Fold Copper Conductors: Fold each copper conductor back onto itself two to four times to make it thicker and shorter. This prepares the conductors for insertion into the quick connector.
- Connect to Quick Connector: Open the quick connector. Insert the folded copper conductors into the designated slots within the connector. Ensure each conductor is fully seated. Snap the connector closed to secure the wire.
- Attach Speaker Wire to Surface: Peel off the remaining white backing from the adhesive side of the flat wire. Press the wire firmly onto your desired clean, dry surface (e.g., wall, floor, ceiling).
- Conceal the Wire (Optional): For a completely invisible installation, apply plaster or spackle over the flat wire. Once dry, sand smooth and paint over it to match your wall color.

2. Operating Instructions
The FRANKEVER 16-Gauge Hidden Flat Speaker Wire is designed for various low-voltage audio and lighting applications.
2.1 Connecting to Devices
Once installed, connect the quick connectors to your desired devices. The wire is suitable for:
- Speakers: Connect to speaker terminals using banana plugs or by directly inserting the exposed wire ends into spring clips/binding posts.
- LED Lighting: Use for low-voltage LED strip connections.
- Other Low Voltage Appliances: Compatible with various low-voltage electrical connections requiring 16-gauge wiring.

3. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures longevity and optimal performance of your speaker wire.
- Regular Inspection: Periodically check the installed wire for any signs of damage, fraying, or peeling, especially in high-traffic areas or around corners.
- Connection Check: Ensure all quick connectors are securely fastened and that the wire ends are making good contact. Loose connections can lead to signal degradation.
- Cleaning: If the wire is exposed and not painted over, gently wipe it with a dry, soft cloth to remove dust. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Temperature Stability: Avoid exposing the wire to extreme temperature fluctuations, which can affect the adhesive.
4. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your FRANKEVER 16-Gauge Hidden Flat Speaker Wire, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- No Audio/Signal:
- Ensure all connections at both the source and destination devices are secure.
- Verify that the copper conductors are fully inserted into the quick connectors and that the connectors are properly closed.
- Check for any breaks or damage along the wire's path.
- Poor Sound Quality:
- Confirm that the wire gauge (16-gauge) is appropriate for the length of your run and the power requirements of your audio system.
- Inspect for any partial breaks or corrosion on the copper conductors.
- Adhesion Issues:
- Ensure the surface was clean, dry, and smooth before application.
- For difficult surfaces, additional adhesive spray or alternative mounting methods may be required.
