Setup
1. Powering the Device
- USB Power: Connect the included USB cord to the port on the base of the light. Plug the other end into a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a USB port on a computer or power bank.
- Battery Power: If using batteries, open the battery compartment on the base of the light. Insert 3 AAA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment securely.
2. Attaching the Light Head
The OttLite features interchangeable light heads. To attach a head:
- Select either the lighted magnifier head or the book light head.
- Align the connector on the chosen head with the port at the end of the flexible neck.
- Gently push the head into the port until it clicks securely into place.
- To remove, gently pull the head straight out from the port.

- Using the Sturdy Clip: The base of the light features an integrated clip. Open the clip and attach it to the edge of a tabletop, book, or other suitable surface. Ensure the clip has a firm grip.
- Using the Adhesive Mount: For a more permanent attachment, particularly to a sewing machine, use the provided adhesive strips.
- Clean the desired mounting surface thoroughly to ensure it is free of dust and grease.
- Peel the backing from one side of an adhesive strip and apply it firmly to the flat surface on the back of the light's base.
- Peel the remaining backing from the adhesive strip and press the light's base firmly onto the cleaned surface of your sewing machine or workstation. Hold for 30 seconds to ensure adhesion.
- Allow the adhesive to cure for several hours before applying significant stress to the mount.
Operating Instructions
- Turning On/Off: Locate the push-button switch on the base of the light. Press the button once to turn the light on, and press it again to turn it off.
- Adjusting Position: Use the flexible neck to position the light head as desired. The neck can be bent and rotated to direct illumination precisely where needed.
