  • TFA Dostmann CLOCCO 60.2549.08 Alarm Clock
  • Power Adapter

2.2 Power Supply

The CLOCCO alarm clock operates primarily via the included power adapter. The CR2 battery serves as a backup to retain settings during power outages.

  1. Insert the CR2 battery into the designated battery compartment, observing the correct polarity (+/-). This battery ensures your settings are saved if the main power is interrupted.

2.3 Initial Time Synchronization

Upon initial power-up, the alarm clock will automatically attempt to synchronize with the DCF77 radio signal (atomic clock in Frankfurt, Germany). This process may take several minutes to a few hours, depending on your location and environmental conditions.

  • Place the alarm clock near a window, away from electronic devices that might cause interference.
  • A flashing antenna symbol on the display indicates that the clock is searching for the radio signal.
  • Once synchronized, the antenna symbol will become solid, and the correct time will be displayed. The clock will automatically check and adjust the time, typically between 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM daily.
  • If synchronization fails, you may need to manually set the time (refer to Section 3.1).

3.3 Dimming Function and Sound Activation

  • Automatic Dimming: The display brightness automatically reduces between 7:00 PM and 6:59 AM to prevent excessive light during nighttime hours.
  • Manual Brightness Adjustment: (If available, typically via a dedicated button or holding a button) Some models allow manual adjustment of brightness levels. Refer to the specific button labels on your device.
  • Sound-Activated Display: When operating on battery power (if applicable) or in a specific mode, the display can be set to turn off and only illuminate when a sound is detected (e.g., a clap) or when the clock is touched. This conserves energy and reduces light pollution. Consult your device's specific button for this feature (e.g., "DOWN" button for 5 seconds as mentioned in a review).
