4.1. Battery Installation

The chronostat requires two 1.5V AA batteries for operation. Follow these steps to install them:

  1. Gently open the front cover of the chronostat to reveal the battery compartment.
  2. Insert two 1.5V AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  3. Close the front cover securely.

The chronostat should be mounted on an interior wall, away from direct heat sources, drafts, or direct sunlight, at a height of approximately 1.5 meters (5 feet) from the floor for accurate temperature sensing. Use the provided mounting screws and wall plugs.

For remote sensor connection, refer to the wiring diagram on the back of the unit. Connect the remote sensor wires to terminals 2 and 3 as indicated.

The chronostat allows for weekly programming to optimize energy consumption. This typically involves setting different temperature levels for various times of the day and days of the week.

  1. Press the P (Program) button to enter programming mode.
  2. The display will show the current day and a time slot. Use the navigation buttons or dials to select the day and time period you wish to program.
  3. Adjust the desired temperature for that period using the rotary dials.
  4. Repeat for all desired time slots and days.
  5. Press the P button again to save the program and exit programming mode.
