Setup
1. Mounting
The Vega Bar FX comes with adjustable mounting brackets. These brackets can be used to position the light bar on a flat surface or to attach it to a truss system using appropriate clamps (not included). Ensure the mounting surface or truss is capable of supporting the fixture's weight (2.57 kg).
2. Power Connection
- Connect the provided power cable to the power input socket on the rear of the light bar.
- Plug the other end of the power cable into a suitable grounded electrical outlet.
- Ensure the power switch (if present) is in the OFF position before connecting to power.
3. DMX Connection (Optional)
For external control via a DMX controller:
- Connect a DMX cable from your DMX controller's output to the DMX IN port on the Vega Bar FX.
- If linking multiple units, connect a DMX cable from the DMX OUT port of the first unit to the DMX IN port of the next unit in the chain.
- Terminate the last unit in the DMX chain with a 120 Ohm DMX terminator (not included) to prevent signal reflection.
Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off
Once connected to power, turn on the main power switch located on the rear panel. The display will illuminate, indicating the unit is ready for operation.
2. Menu Navigation
Use the menu buttons (typically UP, DOWN, ENTER, MODE) on the rear panel to navigate through the various settings and modes displayed on the LCD screen.
3. DMX Control Modes
The Vega Bar FX supports multiple DMX channel modes, including 6, 9, 84, and 89 channels. Select the desired DMX mode from the unit's menu to match your DMX controller's configuration. Set the DMX start address for the fixture.
- 6-Channel Mode: Basic control over color mixing (RGBW), dimmer, and strobe.
- 9-Channel Mode: Enhanced control, potentially adding pre-programmed effects or master dimmer.
- 84-Channel Mode: Offers individual control over the 12 CREE LEDs (12 x RGBW = 48 channels) and potentially the 72 PIXEL elements for advanced pixel mapping.
- 89-Channel Mode: Provides the most granular control, likely including full pixel mapping capabilities for the 72 PIXEL elements, plus master functions.
4. Internal Programs and Strobe
The unit features built-in automated programs and sound-activated modes. These can be selected via the menu when not operating in DMX mode. The strobe function offers adjustable speeds from 1 to 18 flashes per second, accessible either through DMX or internal programs.

Maintenance
Cleaning
Regular cleaning helps maintain optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your fixture. Disconnect power before cleaning.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe down the exterior.
- For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth with mild soap can be used, followed by a dry cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish and optical components.
- Periodically clean the cooling vents to ensure proper airflow.
Storage
When not in use, store the light bar in a dry, dust-free environment, preferably in its original packaging or a protective case.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|
| No power | Power cable disconnected; no power from outlet; faulty fuse. | Check power cable connections; test outlet; replace fuse if necessary (by qualified personnel). |
| No DMX control | Incorrect DMX address; wrong DMX mode selected; faulty DMX cable; missing terminator. | Verify DMX address and mode settings; check DMX cable integrity; ensure terminator is used on the last unit. |
| Lights flicker or behave erratically | Poor DMX signal; electrical interference; overheating. | Check DMX connections and cable quality; ensure proper grounding; provide adequate ventilation. |
