4. Product Overview

The X AUTOHAUX Keyless Entry System provides convenient remote locking and unlocking for your vehicle. It includes a main control unit that connects to your vehicle's central locking system and two remote fobs for wireless operation.

Main Control Unit

The main control unit processes signals from the remote controls and activates the vehicle's central locking, trunk release, and window output functions.

Remote Controls

Each remote control features two buttons: one for locking and one for unlocking. They operate on a learning code system for security.

5. Installation Instructions

Important: Installation requires knowledge of automotive electrical systems. If you are not confident in your abilities, seek professional assistance.

5.1 General Wiring Diagram

The following diagram illustrates the general wiring connections for the keyless entry system. Specific connections for central locking will depend on your vehicle's system type (positive trigger, negative trigger, or actuator-based).

General wiring diagram for the keyless entry system, showing connections for power, ground, turning lights, window output, trunk, and arm/memory.

Figure 5.1: General Wiring Diagram

  • Red Wire: +12V Constant Power (Connect to vehicle battery positive terminal via fuse).
  • Black Wire: Ground (Connect to vehicle chassis ground).
  • Brown Wires (x2): Turning Lights Output (Connect to vehicle's left and right turning light circuits).
  • Green Wire: Window Rising Output (-) (Connect to window control module for negative trigger window roll-up).
  • Blue Wire: Trunk Release (-) (Connect to vehicle's trunk release solenoid for negative trigger).
  • Red/Black Wires: Arm & Memory (Typically for alarm systems, connect as per specific alarm instructions or insulate if not used).
  • Antenna: Extend for optimal remote range.

5.2 Central Locking Wiring (Main Unit Switch)

The central locking wires (Orange, White, Yellow, Orange-black, White-black, Yellow-black) connect to your vehicle's central locking system. There are typically three main types of central locking systems:

5.2.1 Feature B: Positive Trigger System

For vehicles originally equipped with a central-locking system and an electric motor on the inside of the driver side door, where the lock/unlock signals are positive triggers.

Wiring diagram for Feature B, a positive trigger central locking system, showing connections for Orange (NC), White (Closing Signal), Yellow (+12V), Orange-black (NC), White-black (Opening Signal), Yellow-black (+12V).

Figure 5.2: Feature B Wiring (Positive Trigger)

  • Orange: Not Connected (NC)
  • White: Closing Signal (Connect to vehicle's lock signal wire)
  • Yellow: +12V (Connect to constant +12V)
  • Orange-black: Not Connected (NC)
  • White-black: Opening Signal (Connect to vehicle's unlock signal wire)
  • Yellow-black: +12V (Connect to constant +12V)

5.2.2 Feature C: Negative Trigger System

For vehicles with a central-locking system where the lock/unlock signals are negative triggers (grounded).

Wiring diagram for Feature C, a negative trigger central locking system, showing connections for Orange (NC), White (Closing Signal), Yellow (Negativepole/Grounded), Orange-black (NC), White-black (Opening Signal), Yellow-black (Negativepole/Grounded).

Figure 5.3: Feature C Wiring (Negative Trigger)

  • Orange: Not Connected (NC)
  • White: Closing Signal (Connect to vehicle's lock signal wire)
  • Yellow: Negativepole (Grounded) (Connect to vehicle chassis ground)
  • Orange-black: Not Connected (NC)
  • White-black: Opening Signal (Connect to vehicle's unlock signal wire)
  • Yellow-black: Negativepole (Grounded) (Connect to vehicle chassis ground)

5.2.3 Feature D: Actuator-Based System

For vehicles that require an extra 2-wire actuator for the driver door only, typically found in older vehicles without existing central locking motors.

Wiring diagram for Feature D, an actuator-based central locking system, showing connections for Orange (Negativepole/Grounded), White (Closing Signal), Yellow (+12V), Orange-black (Negativepole/Grounded), White-black (Opening Signal), Yellow-black (+12V).

Figure 5.4: Feature D Wiring (Actuator-Based)

  • Orange: Negativepole (Grounded) (Connect to vehicle chassis ground)
  • White: Closing Signal (Connect to actuator's lock wire)
  • Yellow: +12V (Connect to constant +12V)
  • Orange-black: Negativepole (Grounded) (Connect to vehicle chassis ground)
  • White-black: Opening Signal (Connect to actuator's unlock wire)
  • Yellow-black: +12V (Connect to constant +12V)

6. Operating Instructions

Once installed, operate the system using the provided remote controls:

  • Lock Button (🔒): Press once to lock all vehicle doors. The turning lights will flash once.
  • Unlock Button (🔓): Press once to unlock all vehicle doors. The turning lights will flash twice.
  • Remote Trunk Release: If connected, press and hold the unlock button for approximately 3 seconds to activate the trunk release.
  • Window Output: If connected, the window output signal will activate for 30 seconds upon a specific remote command (refer to vehicle-specific wiring for integration).

7. Learning Code (Remote Programming)

If a remote control is lost, replaced, or if the system needs to be reset, you can program new remotes or re-program existing ones:

  1. Open the cover of the main control unit to access the learning button.
  2. Long press the learning button for 3 seconds. The vehicle's turning lights will flash, indicating the system is in learning mode.
  3. Press either the lock or unlock button on the remote control within 5 seconds. The turning lights will flash once to confirm successful programming of the first remote.
  4. To program additional remotes, press the lock or unlock button on the next remote. The turning lights will flash twice. Repeat for all remotes.
  5. After programming all remotes, wait for 5 seconds or press the learning button again to exit learning mode.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Q: Remote unlocks the door but does not lock it after 5 minutes, but I hear clicking in the box.
A: This indicates a need to reset or re-program the learning code. Follow the "Learning Code" instructions in Section 7.
  • Q: System does not respond to remote commands.
A: Check the remote control batteries. Ensure the main control unit has power and ground connections. Verify the antenna is extended. Re-program the remote controls if necessary.
  • Q: Doors do not lock/unlock after installation.
A: Double-check all wiring connections, especially the central locking wires (Orange, White, Yellow, Orange-black, White-black, Yellow-black) against your vehicle's specific central locking system type (Feature B, C, or D). Ensure the correct trigger type (positive/negative) is used. Check for blown fuses in the vehicle or on the wiring harness.
