1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the DOGNESS Smart Cam Pet Feeder. This automatic feeder is designed to provide scheduled meals for your pet, allowing you to monitor and interact with them remotely. Please read this manual carefully to ensure proper setup and operation of your device.

2. Product Overview

The DOGNESS Smart Cam Pet Feeder combines automated feeding with smart camera capabilities, offering convenience and peace of mind for pet owners.

3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking and Assembly

  1. Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Ensure all parts are present: main feeder unit, food tray, power adapter, and instruction manual.
  3. Attach the food tray to the main unit.

3.2 Powering the Device

The feeder supports two power options:

  • Power Adapter: Connect the provided 5V DC 1A power adapter to the feeder and a wall outlet.
  • Battery Backup: For uninterrupted operation during power outages, install D-cell batteries (not included) in the designated compartment. Ensure the power switch on the bottom is in the 'on' position for battery power to function.

3.3 Wi-Fi Connection

The feeder requires a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for smart functions. It is not compatible with 5GHz networks.

  1. Download the DOGNESS app from your device's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Create an account and log in.
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to add your device. This typically involves scanning a QR code displayed on your phone with the feeder's camera.
  4. A green Wi-Fi light on the feeder will flash during connection and remain solid once connected.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Filling the Food Hopper

Open the lid of the feeder and pour dry pet food into the hopper. The large capacity can hold approximately 6.5 lbs of dry food. It is the pet owner's responsibility to ensure the feeder has enough food.

4.2 Adjusting Food Rotator (Portion Control)

The feeder comes with two food rotators to accommodate different kibble sizes and desired portion amounts.

  • Small Size Food Rotator: For small and medium-sized pets. Programmable for 1 to 39 portions (5g-195g).
  • Large Size Food Rotator: For medium and large-sized pets. Programmable for 1 to 39 portions (10g-390g).

To change the rotator, refer to the instructions in the app or the feeder's internal mechanism guide.

4.3 Scheduling Meals

Use the DOGNESS app to set up a feeding schedule. You can customize the number of feedings per day and the portion size for each feeding (up to six feedings per day).

4.4 Voice Recording and Interaction

The feeder allows you to record a personalized voice message that will play at programmed meal times. You can also use the two-way audio feature via the app to communicate with your pet remotely.

4.5 Remote Monitoring

The integrated 720P HD camera allows you to view your pet and the feeding area through the DOGNESS app. The camera provides a fast connection and low latency. Note that the camera is not continuously active; it activates when accessed via the app and records only when manually prompted.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: The food tray is removable and washable. Hand wash only. Regularly clean the food tray and the area around the dispenser to maintain hygiene.
  • Food Level: Periodically check the food level in the hopper to ensure your pet is fed. The app may provide notifications when food levels are low.
  • Battery Check: If using battery backup, check battery life regularly to ensure functionality during power outages.

6. Troubleshooting
