4. Installation Guide
4.1 Hardware Installation
- Power Off and Disconnect: Before beginning, ensure your computer is completely powered off and disconnected from the power outlet.
- Open Computer Case: Remove the side panel of your computer case to access the motherboard.
- Locate PCI Express Slot: Identify an available PCI Express (PCI-E) slot on your motherboard. The EDUP EP-9602 is compatible with x1, x2, x4, x8, or x16 PCI-E slots. Do not attempt to install in a standard PCI slot.
- Remove Slot Cover: Remove the metal slot cover corresponding to the chosen PCI-E slot on the back of your computer case.
- Install Low-Profile Bracket (Optional): If your computer case is a small form factor (low-profile), you may need to replace the pre-installed standard bracket on the network card with the included low-profile bracket. Use the provided screwdriver and screws for this.
- Insert Network Card: Carefully align the network card with the PCI-E slot and press it firmly until it is securely seated. Ensure the gold-plated contacts are fully inserted into the slot.
- Secure Card: Secure the network card to the computer case using the screw removed from the slot cover or one of the provided screws.
- Close Computer Case: Replace the side panel of your computer case.
- Reconnect Power: Reconnect the power cable and turn on your computer.

4.2 Driver Installation
For most modern Windows operating systems (Windows 10/8.1/7), the driver for the Realtek RTL8111F chipset may be automatically detected and installed upon system startup. If the driver does not install automatically, or if you are using an older operating system, follow these steps:
- Insert Driver CD: Insert the included driver CD into your computer's optical drive.
- Run Setup: Navigate to the CD drive in "My Computer" or "This PC" and run the setup executable (e.g., "setup.exe" or "install.exe").
- Follow On-Screen Instructions: Follow the prompts to complete the driver installation. You may need to restart your computer after installation.
- Download Driver (Alternative): If you do not have an optical drive, or if you prefer the latest driver, you can download it from the EDUP website. Visit http://www.szedup.com/ep-9602-driver/ or the official Realtek website for the RTL8111F chipset driver.

5. Operating Instructions
Once the hardware and drivers are installed, the network card is ready for use.
- Connect Ethernet Cable: Plug a standard RJ45 Ethernet cable into the port on the EDUP EP-9602 network card. Connect the other end of the cable to your network router, switch, or modem.
- Verify Connection: Check the Link/Activity LED indicators on the network card. A solid light typically indicates a successful link, while a blinking light indicates network activity.
- Network Configuration: Your operating system should automatically detect the new network connection. You may need to configure network settings (e.g., IP address, DNS) if your network requires manual setup. For most home networks, DHCP will automatically assign these settings.
- Test Connection: Open a web browser or use a network diagnostic tool to confirm internet access and network connectivity.

6. Troubleshooting
- No Link Light / No Network Connection:
- Ensure the network card is securely seated in the PCI-E slot.
- Verify the Ethernet cable is properly connected to both the card and the network device (router/switch).
- Test with a different Ethernet cable.
- Check if the network device (router/switch) is powered on and functioning correctly.
- Confirm that the correct drivers are installed. Check Device Manager in Windows for any yellow exclamation marks next to the network adapter.
- Slow Network Speed:
- Ensure your router/switch supports Gigabit Ethernet (1000Mbps).
- Use a Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable for optimal performance.
- Update the network card driver to the latest version from the EDUP or Realtek website.
- Check for network congestion or issues with your internet service provider.
- Driver Installation Issues:
- Ensure you are installing the correct driver for the Realtek RTL8111F chipset and your operating system.
- Temporarily disable antivirus software during driver installation if encountering issues.
- Try downloading the driver directly from the EDUP website (http://www.szedup.com/ep-9602-driver/).
- Card Not Detected:
- Verify the card is fully seated in the PCI-E slot.
- Try installing the card in a different PCI-E slot if available.
- Ensure your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI settings are configured to enable PCI-E slots.
