1. Product Overview

The Kobalt KRC 30-06 80V Max Lithium-Ion Battery Charger is designed for efficient and reliable charging of all Kobalt 80-volt lithium-ion batteries. It features smart charging capabilities and a visual charge status indicator to keep you informed during the charging process. This charger is capable of fully charging a Kobalt 80-volt 2 Ah battery in approximately 30 minutes.

3. Setup and Initial Use

3.1 Unpacking

• Carefully remove the charger from its packaging.
• Inspect the charger for any signs of damage during shipping. If damaged, do not use and contact customer support.
• Ensure all components are present.

3.2 Connecting to Power

• Plug the charger's power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.
• The charger's indicator lights may briefly illuminate upon connection, indicating it is ready for use.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Charging a Battery

1. Ensure the charger is plugged into a working power outlet.
2. Align the Kobalt 80V lithium-ion battery with the charging slot on the charger.
3. Slide the battery firmly into the charger until it clicks into place.
4. The charger's indicator lights will show the charging status.
5. Once charging is complete, the indicator will show a full charge. Remove the battery by pressing the release tab (if present) and sliding it out.

4.2 Charge Status Indicators

The charger features LED indicators to communicate the battery's status:

• Solid Green Light: Battery is fully charged.
• Flashing Green Light: Battery is currently charging.
• Solid Red Light: Battery or charger error. Refer to the troubleshooting section.
• Flashing Red Light: Battery is too hot or too cold to charge. Allow the battery to reach room temperature before attempting to charge again.

• Cleaning: Disconnect the charger from the power supply before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use water or chemical cleaners.
• Storage: Store the charger in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Charger Not Powering On:
  • Check if the power cord is securely plugged into both the charger and the electrical outlet.
  • Verify that the electrical outlet is functional by testing it with another device.
• Battery Not Charging (Flashing Red Light):
  • The battery may be too hot or too cold. Move the battery and charger to a room temperature environment (between 40°F and 104°F / 4°C and 40°C) and allow it to acclimate for at least 30 minutes before attempting to charge again.
• Battery Not Charging (Solid Red Light):
  • This indicates a fault with the battery or charger. Try charging a different Kobalt 80V battery (if available) to determine if the issue is with the battery or the charger.
