3. Package Contents

Upon opening the package, please verify that all items are present and in good condition.

4. Setup

4.1 Attaching the Reel to a Fishing Rod

  1. Loosen the reel seat nut on your fishing rod.
  2. Place the reel foot into the reel seat, ensuring it is fully seated.
  3. Tighten the reel seat nut firmly to secure the reel. Do not overtighten.

4.2 Spooling Fishing Line

Properly spooling line is crucial for optimal casting performance and to prevent tangles.

  1. Open the bail arm of the reel.
  2. Tie the fishing line to the spool using an arbor knot or a similar secure knot. Trim any excess tag end.
  3. Close the bail arm.
  4. Hold the line under slight tension and begin reeling slowly. Ensure the line lays evenly on the spool.
  5. Fill the spool to approximately 1/8 inch (3mm) from the lip of the spool. Overfilling or underfilling can affect casting.

  2. Press the line against the rod handle with your index finger.
  3. Open the bail arm with your other hand.
  4. Swing the rod forward in a smooth motion, releasing your index finger as the rod reaches the desired casting angle.
  5. As the lure or bait approaches the target, gently close the bail arm manually or by turning the handle to engage the retrieve.

5.2 Retrieving

Turn the reel handle clockwise (for right-handed retrieve) or counter-clockwise (for left-handed retrieve) to retrieve the line. Maintain a steady pace appropriate for your lure or bait.

5.3 Adjusting the Drag

The drag system allows line to be pulled from the spool when a fish pulls hard, preventing line breakage.
