2. Safety Information
Please read and understand the following safety guidelines before using your Daiwa Ninja LT 6000 Spinning Reel.
- Always handle fishing hooks and lures with extreme care to prevent injury.
- Ensure the reel is securely attached to the fishing rod before casting.
- Keep fingers clear of moving parts, especially during casting and retrieving.
- Do not attempt to disassemble the reel beyond routine maintenance as described in this manual. Unauthorized disassembly may void the warranty and cause damage.
- Rinse the reel with fresh water after use in saltwater environments to prevent corrosion.
- Store the reel in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

4. Setup
4.1 Attaching the Reel to a Fishing Rod
- Loosen the reel seat nut on your fishing rod.
- Place the reel foot into the reel seat, ensuring it is fully seated.
- Tighten the reel seat nut firmly to secure the reel. Do not overtighten.
4.2 Spooling Fishing Line
Properly spooling line is crucial for optimal casting performance and to prevent tangles.
- Open the bail arm of the reel.
- Tie the fishing line to the spool using an arbor knot or a similar secure knot. Trim any excess tag end.
- Close the bail arm.
- Hold the line under slight tension and begin reeling slowly. Ensure the line lays evenly on the spool.
- Fill the spool to approximately 1/8 inch (3mm) from the lip of the spool. Overfilling or underfilling can affect casting.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Casting
- Hold the rod and reel comfortably.
- Press the line against the rod handle with your index finger.
- Open the bail arm with your other hand.
- Swing the rod forward in a smooth motion, releasing your index finger as the rod reaches the desired casting angle.
- As the lure or bait approaches the target, gently close the bail arm manually or by turning the handle to engage the retrieve.
5.2 Retrieving
Turn the reel handle clockwise (for right-handed retrieve) or counter-clockwise (for left-handed retrieve) to retrieve the line. Maintain a steady pace appropriate for your lure or bait.
5.3 Adjusting the Drag
The drag system allows line to be pulled from the spool when a fish pulls hard, preventing line breakage.
- To increase drag tension, turn the drag knob (located on top of the spool) clockwise.
- To decrease drag tension, turn the drag knob counter-clockwise.
- Set the drag to approximately 25-30% of your line's breaking strength. Test the drag by pulling line directly from the spool.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance will extend the life and performance of your Daiwa Ninja LT 6000 Spinning Reel.
6.1 Cleaning
- After each use, especially in saltwater, rinse the reel thoroughly with fresh, cool water. Do not use hot water or high-pressure sprays.
- Wipe the reel dry with a soft, clean cloth.
- Remove any dirt, sand, or debris from the spool, line roller, and other exposed parts.
6.2 Lubrication
- Periodically apply a small amount of high-quality reel oil to the line roller and handle knobs.
- For internal lubrication, it is recommended to have the reel serviced by a qualified technician or Daiwa service center. Improper lubrication can damage internal components.
6.3 Storage
- Store the reel in a protective case or bag to prevent scratches and damage.
- Keep the reel in a dry, cool environment, away from direct sunlight and corrosive chemicals.
- Loosen the drag completely before storing for extended periods to prevent compression of the drag washers.
7. Troubleshooting
Refer to the table below for common issues and their potential solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Line tangles or loops during casting | Overfilled spool, line twist, improper casting technique | Reduce line on spool, remove line twist, practice smooth casting |
| Drag slips or is inconsistent | Drag washers are wet, dirty, or worn; drag knob not tightened | Clean and dry drag washers, replace worn washers, tighten drag knob |
| Reel feels stiff or grinds | Lack of lubrication, dirt/sand in gears, internal damage | Clean and lubricate external moving parts. For internal issues, seek professional service. |
| Bail arm does not close properly | Debris in bail mechanism, bent bail wire | Clear debris, gently straighten bail wire if slightly bent. If severely damaged, replace. |
