1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Chieftec HC-10B-OP Computer Case. Please read this manual thoroughly before beginning installation to ensure proper setup and to maximize the lifespan of your components. This computer case is designed to house Mini ATX motherboards and associated components.
2. Safety Information
Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury and damage to your equipment:
- Ensure the computer is disconnected from the power source before opening the case or installing/removing components.
- Handle components with care to avoid electrostatic discharge (ESD). Consider using an anti-static wrist strap.
- Avoid placing the computer case in areas with excessive dust, moisture, or extreme temperatures.
- Do not obstruct ventilation openings on the case.
- Keep small parts and tools away from children.
3. Setup and Component Installation
3.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove the computer case from its packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage during transit. Retain the packaging for future transport or warranty claims.

3.2 Opening the Case
Locate the thumbscrews or standard screws on the rear of the case securing the side panels. Remove these screws and carefully slide the side panels backward, then lift them off.

3.3 Motherboard Installation
- Install the I/O shield into the rear opening of the case.
- Ensure the standoffs for your Mini ATX motherboard are correctly aligned and installed on the motherboard tray.
- Carefully place the motherboard onto the standoffs, aligning the screw holes.
- Secure the motherboard with the provided screws. Do not overtighten.

3.4 Drive Installation (HDD/SSD)
The case features drive bays for storage devices. Refer to the internal layout for specific bay locations.
- For 3.5" HDDs, slide the drive into the designated bay and secure it with screws or tool-less mechanisms if available.
- For 2.5" SSDs, use an adapter bracket if necessary, then secure it in a 3.5" bay or dedicated 2.5" bay.
3.5 Power Supply Installation
The Chieftec HC-10B-OP supports a rear-mount power supply.
- Slide the power supply into the designated mounting area at the rear of the case.
- Align the screw holes and secure the power supply with screws from the exterior rear of the case.
3.6 Expansion Card Installation
Remove the necessary PCI slot covers from the rear of the case. Insert your expansion card (e.g., graphics card) into the corresponding motherboard slot and secure it with a screw or retention clip.

3.7 Cable Management
Route power and data cables neatly to improve airflow and aesthetics. Utilize cable tie-down points and the space behind the motherboard tray if available.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Powering On/Off
Connect the power cable to the power supply and a wall outlet. Press the power button located on the front panel of the case to turn on your computer. To turn off, use the operating system's shutdown function or press and hold the power button for several seconds.

4.2 Front Panel Connections
The front panel provides convenient access to:
- USB 2.0 Ports: Two USB 2.0 ports are available for connecting peripherals.
- Audio Jacks: Headphone and microphone jacks for audio input/output.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps ensure optimal performance and longevity of your computer components.
- Dust Cleaning: Periodically clean dust from the interior of the case, especially from fans and ventilation areas, using compressed air or a soft brush. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Airflow: Ensure adequate space around the case for proper airflow. Do not block the side or rear ventilation openings.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, refer to these common troubleshooting steps:
- No Power:
- Check if the power cable is securely connected to both the power supply and the wall outlet.
- Ensure the power supply switch is in the 'ON' position.
- Verify all internal power connections (24-pin ATX, CPU power, GPU power) are seated correctly.
- No Display:
- Ensure the monitor is connected to the correct video output (graphics card or integrated graphics).
- Reseat the graphics card and RAM modules.
- Overheating:
- Check that all case fans and CPU cooler fans are spinning.
- Clean any dust buildup from fans and heatsinks.
- Ensure proper airflow within the case and that ventilation openings are not blocked.
