2. Channel Selection

  • Rotate the Channel Selection knob to choose one of the 16 available channels.
  • For communication, all walkie talkies in your group must be set to the same channel.
  • The RT24 walkie talkies are pre-programmed with the same frequencies from the factory, allowing immediate communication on matching channels.

3. Transmitting and Receiving (PTT)

  • To transmit, press and hold the PTT (Push-to-Talk) button located on the side of the walkie talkie. Speak clearly into the microphone.
  • Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and listen for a response.

4. Privacy Codes (CTCSS/DCS)

The RT24 supports 50 CTCSS (Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System) and 105 DCS (Digitally Coded Squelch) codes. These codes help filter out unwanted conversations on the same channel, ensuring more private communication. To use privacy codes, all radios in your group must be set to the same channel and the same CTCSS/DCS code.

5. VOX Function (Voice Operated Exchange)

The VOX function allows you to transmit without pressing the PTT button. When enabled, the radio will automatically transmit when it detects your voice. This feature is particularly useful when using an earpiece or when hands-free operation is required. Consult the full programming software (if available) for detailed VOX sensitivity settings.

  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid overcharging and fully discharging the battery frequently. Store batteries in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Storage: When storing the walkie talkie for extended periods, remove the battery.
