- To disconnect heater, turn controls to off, then remove plug from outlet.

- Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
- To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
- A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable vapors or liquids are used or stored.
- Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
- Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
- This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
2. Setup and Installation
The Pleasant Hearth LK-24 Electric Log Insert is designed to easily retrofit into most masonry and pre-fabricated fireplaces, converting them into an electric fireplace with flame effect and heat.
2.1 Unboxing and Inspection
- Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Inspect the unit for any damage that may have occurred during shipping. If any damage is noted, do not operate the unit and contact customer support.
- Ensure all included components are present: Electric Log Insert, Remote Control, and Removable Fireback.
2.2 Placement
- Place the electric log insert into your existing fireplace opening. Ensure it is stable and level.
- The unit is designed for indoor use only, specifically for living rooms or similar spaces.
- Ensure there is adequate clearance around the unit for proper ventilation. Do not block air intakes or exhaust.
2.3 Installing the Removable Fireback
The LK-24 model includes a removable cast iron fireback. This can be used to enhance the flame projection or removed if preferred.
- To install: Align the fireback with the designated slots or mounting points at the rear of the log insert. Secure it in place.
- To remove: Carefully detach the fireback from its mounting points.

2.4 Power Connection
- Plug the unit into any standard 120 Volt outlet.
- Do not use extension cords or power strips.
3. Operating Instructions
The Pleasant Hearth LK-24 can be operated using the included multi-function remote control or the manual switches located on the unit.
3.1 Remote Control Functions
The remote control allows for full functionality from virtually anywhere in the room.
