Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to efficiently open a wine bottle:

  1. Remove Foil: Use the included stainless steel foil cutter to remove the foil seal from the top of the wine bottle. Place the cutter over the bottle neck, squeeze, and twist to cut the foil.
  2. Position Corkscrew: Place the electric corkscrew vertically on top of the wine bottle, ensuring it is centered over the cork. Hold the bottle firmly with one hand and the corkscrew with the other.
  3. Extract Cork: Press and hold the lower part of the button (usually marked with a down arrow or 'ON'). The spiral will rotate clockwise and penetrate the cork, then automatically pull it out of the bottle. Continue holding until the cork is fully extracted and the corkscrew stops.
  4. Release Cork: Once the cork is out of the bottle, lift the corkscrew away. Press and hold the upper part of the button (usually marked with an up arrow or 'OFF'). The spiral will rotate counter-clockwise, releasing the cork from the corkscrew.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the corkscrew with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the unit in water or place it in a dishwasher.
  • Spiral Care: The non-stick spiral generally requires minimal cleaning. If cork residue accumulates, gently remove it with a soft brush or cloth. Avoid using abrasive materials that could damage the non-stick coating.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the corkscrew's operation becomes slow or inconsistent. Always use new, high-quality AA alkaline batteries.
  • Storage: Store the corkscrew in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Corkscrew does not operate or operates slowly.Batteries are low or incorrectly installed.Check battery orientation. Replace with new AA batteries.
Cork is not fully extracted or gets stuck.Corkscrew not centered on the bottle; insufficient pressure applied; cork is very tight.Ensure the corkscrew is perfectly vertical and centered. Apply gentle, consistent downward pressure during extraction. If the cork is exceptionally tight, ensure batteries are fresh.
Cork is shredded or damaged.Corkscrew not properly aligned; cork is brittle.Ensure the corkscrew is straight and stable on the bottle. The non-stick spiral is designed to prevent shredding, but very old or brittle corks may still present challenges.
