Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Installation Area: Ensure power is disconnected at the circuit breaker. Determine the optimal location for the fan, considering ducting requirements and electrical access.
- Cut the Opening: Based on the housing dimensions (8 in. x 8 in. x 7 3/4 in.), carefully cut an opening in the ceiling.
- Mount the Housing: Use the adjustable slider bars to secure the fan housing between ceiling joists. The housing dimensions are 7-3/4" W x 8-3/8" L x 6-1/2" H.
- Connect Ducting: Attach a 4-inch diameter duct to the fan's exhaust port and route it to the exterior of the building. Ensure all connections are sealed to prevent air leakage.

Operating Instructions
The Good Housekeeping Yorkshire fan is designed for simple operation. Once properly installed and wired, the fan and light functions are controlled by your wall switches.
- Fan Operation: Activate the fan by flipping the designated wall switch. The fan will begin to extract moist air from the bathroom.
- Light Operation: Activate the light by flipping its designated wall switch. The light provides illumination for the bathroom area.
- Combined Operation: If wired to a single switch, both the fan and light will activate simultaneously.
For optimal humidity control, operate the fan during and after showering or bathing until excess moisture is removed from the air.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your exhaust fan. Always disconnect power at the service panel before performing any maintenance.
- Cleaning the Cover: The secure and screwless design enclosure allows for simple re-lamping and cleaning without the need for any tools. Gently pull down the decorative cover to remove it. Clean the cover with a soft cloth and mild, non-abrasive cleaner.
- Cleaning the Fan Blades and Housing: With the cover removed and power disconnected, carefully wipe down the fan blades and the interior of the housing to remove dust and debris. A vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment can also be used.
- Replacing Lightbulbs: If a bulb burns out, replace it with a new LED A15 bulb, maximum 8 watts. Ensure the new bulb is securely screwed into the socket.
- Ductwork Inspection: Periodically inspect the ductwork for any blockages, leaks, or damage. Ensure the duct is free of obstructions to maintain proper airflow.
