  • SwingBlade End Cap: Pivots open to provide full access to the T-slot, simplifying accessory installation and removal.
  • Upper T-track with QuickAccess Interface: Allows for smooth and efficient installation and removal of various accessories.
  • BoxBeam Internal Structure: Provides an exceptionally strong and durable load bar.

What's Included

Your Thule Wingbar Evo package includes:

  • One pair of Thule Wingbar Evo load bars.
  • Corresponding end caps for both bars.
  • Rubber strips for the T-track.

Installation Steps:

  1. Consult the Fit Guide: Before beginning, check the official Thule Fit Guide (available online or with your purchase) to determine the correct bar length and precise placement measurements (W and Z values) for your specific vehicle make and model. This ensures optimal performance and safety.
  2. Prepare the Bars:
    • Locate the SmartSlides measurement scale on the underside of the bars. This scale assists in accurate positioning of the foot packs.
    • Open the SwingBlade end caps to access the T-slot for accessory installation later, or to adjust the rubber strips.

  6. Install Rubber Strips: If not already in place, install the rubber strips into the T-track on the top of the bars. These strips help to further reduce wind noise and protect the T-track.

Note: Some users have found the rubber strip installation to be challenging. Using a small amount of soapy water can aid in sliding the strips into place.

Operating the System

Once installed, the Thule Wingbar Evo system provides a stable platform for various Thule accessories. The integrated T-track allows for quick and secure attachment of bike carriers, ski carriers, cargo boxes, and more.

Attaching Accessories:

  • Open the SwingBlade end cap to expose the T-track.
  • Slide your T-track compatible accessory into the slot.
  • Secure the accessory according to its specific instructions.
  • Close the SwingBlade end cap to cover the T-track opening.

The QuickAccess interface ensures that accessories can be installed and removed smoothly and efficiently.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Thule Wingbar Evo system.

  • Regular Cleaning: Clean the bars and foot packs periodically with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the finish.
  • Check Tightness: Before each use, especially after initial installation or after carrying heavy loads, check that all mounting bolts and clamps are securely tightened.
  • Inspect Components: Periodically inspect the rubber strips, end caps, and foot pads for any signs of wear, cracking, or damage. Replace any worn components as needed.
  • Winter Care: If you live in an area with harsh winters, consider removing the roof rack system during the off-season to protect it from extreme weather conditions and road salt.
