2. Important Safety Instructions

4.1 Unpacking

4.3 Placement
Place the air fryer on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from walls or other appliances to allow for proper air circulation. Ensure there is at least 10 cm (4 inches) of free space on the back, sides, and above the appliance.

During the first few minutes of initial use, a slight odor and some smoke may be noticeable. This is normal and will dissipate quickly. It is recommended to run the air fryer empty for about 10-15 minutes at 180°C (350°F) to burn off any manufacturing residues.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Preparing for Cooking
- Place the removable grid inside the cooking basket.
- Place your ingredients into the cooking basket. Do not overfill the basket to ensure even cooking.
- Slide the cooking basket back into the main unit until it clicks into place.
5.2 Using the Digital Touchscreen
Plug the appliance into a grounded wall outlet. The digital display will illuminate.
- Manual Mode: Use the temperature and time adjustment buttons to set your desired cooking parameters. The temperature can be adjusted up to 200°C (390°F) and the timer up to 60 minutes.
- Preset Modes: The KRUPS EY401 features 8 preset cooking modes for common dishes: Fries, Steak, Shrimp, Cake, Pizza, Fish, Grill, and Roast. Select the desired icon on the touchscreen. The appliance will automatically set the optimal temperature and time for that food type.
- Start/Stop: Press the Start/Stop button to begin or pause the cooking process.
- Auto Shut-off: The air fryer will automatically shut off when the timer reaches zero or when the cooking basket is removed during operation.



5.3 Shaking Ingredients
Some ingredients may require shaking halfway through the preparation time to ensure even cooking. To do this, pull the basket out of the appliance by the handle. The air fryer will automatically pause. Shake the basket gently, then slide it back into the appliance. Cooking will resume automatically.
