Introduction
This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your Microsoft Surface Pro 6. Please read this manual thoroughly before using your device to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Setup
1. Unboxing and Initial Inspection
Upon receiving your Surface Pro 6, carefully unpack all components. The box should contain:
- Device (Microsoft Surface Pro 6)
- Power Supply Unit (PSU)
- Quick Start Guide (QSG)
- Safety and Warranty documents
Inspect the device for any visible damage. If any components are missing or damaged, contact customer support immediately.
2. Powering On and Charging
Connect the Power Supply Unit (PSU) to the charging port on your Surface Pro 6 and then to a power outlet. The device can be used while charging. Allow the battery to fully charge before its first extended use for optimal battery health.

3. Initial Software Configuration
Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the initial setup of Windows 10 Home. This includes selecting your language, connecting to a Wi-Fi network, and setting up your Microsoft account.
Operating Instructions
1. Using the Kickstand
The integrated kickstand allows for versatile viewing angles. Gently pull the kickstand from the back of the device to adjust it to your desired position. It is designed to hold firmly at various angles for comfortable use in laptop or studio mode.

2. Attaching and Detaching the Type Cover
The Surface Pro 6 is compatible with a Signature Type Cover (sold separately) which provides a full keyboard experience. To attach, align the magnetic connector of the Type Cover with the bottom edge of the Surface Pro 6 until it clicks into place. To detach, gently pull the Type Cover away from the device.

3. Using the Surface Pen (Stylus)
The Surface Pen (sold separately) allows for precise input, drawing, and writing directly on the touchscreen. It functions as both a pen for writing and a mouse for navigation. The back end of the pen can also function as an eraser in compatible applications.

4. Tablet Mode and Touchscreen Functionality
The Surface Pro 6 features a responsive touchscreen. When the Type Cover is detached or folded back, the device automatically switches to tablet mode, optimizing the interface for touch input. You can navigate, open applications, and interact with content using gestures and taps.
5. Camera Usage
The device is equipped with both front and rear cameras. The rear webcam has an 8 MP resolution. Access the camera application from the Start menu to capture photos or videos.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Device
To clean your Surface Pro 6, use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with water or a mild screen cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive materials, or aerosol sprays directly on the device. Ensure all ports are dry before connecting any accessories.
2. Battery Care
To prolong battery life, avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures. For long-term storage, ensure the battery is charged to approximately 50% and store in a cool, dry place. The average battery life is up to 13.5 hours of video playback.
3. Software Updates

Troubleshooting
1. Device Not Powering On
Ensure the device is properly connected to the power adapter and the adapter is plugged into a working outlet. If the battery is completely drained, it may take a few minutes for the device to respond after being plugged in.
2. Screen Issues
If the screen is unresponsive or flickering, try restarting the device. For persistent issues, check for graphics driver updates or consult the Microsoft support website.
3. Peripheral Connectivity Problems
If a connected accessory (e.g., Type Cover, Surface Pen) is not working, ensure it is properly attached or paired. Check device drivers and try restarting the Surface Pro 6.
