Introduction
The Arlo Audio Doorbell (AAD1001-100NAS) is designed to enhance your home security by providing audio communication with visitors at your door. When combined with an Arlo, Arlo Pro, or Arlo Pro 2 wire-free camera (sold separately), it allows you to see who is at your door and communicate remotely from your smartphone or tablet. This device is wire-free, weather-resistant, and integrates with your existing door chime or a separate Arlo Chime.

Setup and Installation
The Arlo Audio Doorbell is designed for easy, wire-free installation. It requires an existing Arlo Base Station to function.
Mounting the Doorbell
- Choose a suitable location near your front door. The wire-free design allows flexibility in placement.
- Use the provided wall mount screw set to securely attach the doorbell to the desired surface.
- Insert the two AA batteries into the doorbell unit.
- Secure the doorbell unit onto the mounted bracket.

Connecting to Arlo System
Follow the instructions in the Arlo app to connect your Audio Doorbell to your existing Arlo Base Station. This process typically involves adding a new device within the app and following the on-screen prompts for pairing.
The doorbell is compatible with your existing wired chime or can be paired with a separate Arlo Chime (sold separately).
Operating Instructions
The Arlo Audio Doorbell provides several functionalities to manage visitors at your door.
Doorbell Notifications and Communication
- When a visitor presses the doorbell button, you will receive a call notification on your smartphone or tablet.
- Answer the call to engage in two-way audio communication with the visitor. This requires a mobile device running iOS 10 or Android 6 or later and a high-speed internet connection.
- If you have a compatible Arlo camera, you can view the live video feed of your doorstep while communicating.

Visitor Messaging
If you are unable to answer a doorbell notification, visitors can leave a voice message for you. You can listen to these messages remotely at your convenience through the Arlo app.
Silent Mode
The Arlo app allows you to activate a "Silent Mode" which turns off calls and chimes from the doorbell, preventing disturbances. This setting can be managed directly within the app's device settings.

Maintenance
The Arlo Audio Doorbell is designed to be weather-resistant, requiring minimal maintenance. Periodically, you may want to:
- Wipe the exterior surface with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust or dirt. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Check the battery level regularly via the Arlo app. Replace the two AA batteries when indicated to ensure continuous operation.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Arlo Audio Doorbell, consider the following common solutions:
- No Notifications: Ensure your Arlo Base Station is online and connected to the internet. Check app settings for notifications and ensure "Silent Mode" is not enabled.
- Poor Audio Quality: Verify a strong Wi-Fi signal at the doorbell's location. Ensure your mobile device has a stable internet connection.
- Battery Drain: High usage or extreme temperatures can affect battery life. Ensure batteries are fresh and correctly inserted.
- Doorbell Not Responding: Try removing and reinserting the batteries. If the issue persists, attempt to re-pair the doorbell with your Arlo Base Station via the app.
