Introduction

The Arlo Audio Doorbell (AAD1001-100NAS) is designed to enhance your home security by providing audio communication with visitors at your door. When combined with an Arlo, Arlo Pro, or Arlo Pro 2 wire-free camera (sold separately), it allows you to see who is at your door and communicate remotely from your smartphone or tablet. This device is wire-free, weather-resistant, and integrates with your existing door chime or a separate Arlo Chime.

Setup and Installation

The Arlo Audio Doorbell is designed for easy, wire-free installation. It requires an existing Arlo Base Station to function.

Mounting the Doorbell

  1. Choose a suitable location near your front door. The wire-free design allows flexibility in placement.
  2. Use the provided wall mount screw set to securely attach the doorbell to the desired surface.
  3. Insert the two AA batteries into the doorbell unit.
  4. Secure the doorbell unit onto the mounted bracket.

Connecting to Arlo System

Follow the instructions in the Arlo app to connect your Audio Doorbell to your existing Arlo Base Station. This process typically involves adding a new device within the app and following the on-screen prompts for pairing.

The doorbell is compatible with your existing wired chime or can be paired with a separate Arlo Chime (sold separately).

Visitor Messaging

If you are unable to answer a doorbell notification, visitors can leave a voice message for you. You can listen to these messages remotely at your convenience through the Arlo app.

Silent Mode

The Arlo app allows you to activate a "Silent Mode" which turns off calls and chimes from the doorbell, preventing disturbances. This setting can be managed directly within the app's device settings.
