2. Safety Information

4. Product Overview
4.1 Front Panel

The front panel features a large LED display, control buttons for navigation and selection (PRESET, INFO/MENU, ENTER/SCAN, SLEEP), tuning buttons (left/right arrows), and a MODE button. A rotary knob for SNOOZE/VOLUME and EQ adjustment is located on the right side.
4.2 Rear Panel

The rear panel includes the telescopic antenna for radio reception and the DC 5V power input port.
5. Setup
5.1 Power Connection
- Insert the DC plug of the supplied power adapter into the DC 5V port on the rear of the radio.
- Plug the AC power adapter into a wall outlet.
5.2 Antenna Adjustment
For optimal FM and DAB/DAB+ reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna located on the rear of the unit. Adjust its position for the best signal quality.
5.3 Initial Power-On
Upon first power-on, the radio may automatically scan for available DAB/DAB+ stations. This process may take a few minutes. Once complete, the radio will display the time and date, and the first available station will begin playing.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
Press the MODE/POWER button (top right) to turn the radio on or off.
6.2 Selecting Radio Modes
Press the MODE/POWER button repeatedly to cycle through available modes: DAB, FM, Bluetooth, and AUX.
6.3 Station Tuning (DAB/DAB+)
- In DAB mode, press ENTER/SCAN to perform an auto-scan for stations.
- Use the Left/Right Arrow buttons to navigate through the list of found stations.
- Press ENTER/SCAN to select a station.
6.4 Station Tuning (FM)
- In FM mode, press ENTER/SCAN to auto-scan for the next available station.
- Alternatively, use the Left/Right Arrow buttons for manual fine-tuning.
6.5 Preset Stations
The radio supports up to 60 station presets (30 DAB, 30 FM).
- To Save a Preset: Tune to the desired station. Press and hold the PRESET button until 'Preset Store' appears. Use the Left/Right Arrow buttons to select a preset number, then press ENTER/SCAN to confirm.
- To Recall a Preset: Press the PRESET button briefly. Use the Left/Right Arrow buttons to select the desired preset number, then press ENTER/SCAN.
6.6 Bluetooth Connection
- Switch the radio to Bluetooth mode using the MODE/POWER button. The display will show 'Bluetooth Pairing'.
- Enable Bluetooth on your smart device and search for 'SHARP DR-450'.
- Select the device to pair. Once connected, you can stream audio wirelessly.
6.7 AUX Input
Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player) to the 3.5mm AUX IN port on the rear of the radio using a 3.5mm audio cable (not supplied). Switch the radio to AUX mode to play audio from the connected device.
6.8 Alarm Clock Functions
The DR-450 features dual alarms, a sleep timer, and a snooze function.
- Setting Alarms: Press INFO/MENU, then navigate to 'Alarm Setup'. Follow the on-screen prompts to set alarm time, source (Buzzer or Radio), and frequency.
- Snooze: When the alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE/VOLUME knob to activate snooze for a short period.
- Sleep Timer: Press the SLEEP button repeatedly to set a sleep timer (e.g., 15, 30, 60, 90 minutes) after which the radio will automatically turn off.
6.9 Display Brightness (Dimmer)
Press the INFO/MENU button, then navigate to 'Display Settings' or 'Dimmer' to adjust the brightness level of the LED display to your preference.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the radio. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: If not using the radio for an extended period, unplug it from the power outlet and store it in a cool, dry place.
