1. Product Overview
Pellon SF101 Shape-Flex is a medium-weight, woven, fusible interfacing designed to provide crisp support and stability to various fabric projects. It is suitable for collars, cuffs, yokes, pockets, facings, and other detailed garment areas. It also adds body and permanent stability for needlework, punch embroidery, and T-shirt quilts. This interfacing is ideal for handbags, pouches, and other accessories.
Made from 100% cotton, Shape-Flex offers stability in both lengthwise and crosswise grains.

2. Preparation and Cutting
Before application, always perform a test on a scrap piece of fabric to ensure compatibility and desired results. This step is crucial for verifying proper adhesion and fabric compatibility.
Cut the Pellon SF101 Shape-Flex interfacing according to your pattern pieces. For optimal results, trim the edges of the interfacing by 1/4 inch.

3. Application Instructions (Fusing)
Step 1: Positioning
Place the fusible (adhesive) side of the Shape-Flex interfacing onto the wrong side of your fabric. Pin the interfacing in place to secure it.
Step 2: Initial Pressing
Using the tip of your iron, lightly press the edges of the interfacing to temporarily hold it in place. Remove the pins.
Step 3: Fusing
- Cover the interfacing with a damp pressing cloth.
- Set your iron to the wool/steam setting. Press down FIRMLY for 10 seconds, ensuring even pressure.
- Lift the iron and repeat the pressing motion, overlapping slightly, until the entire piece of interfacing is completely adhered to the fabric.
- A metal-soled steam iron is recommended for permanent fusing. A dry iron or a steam iron without a metal sole may not achieve a permanent bond.
4. Care and Maintenance
Pellon SF101 Shape-Flex interfacing is machine washable. Use cold water and tumble dry on a low heat setting. Do not bleach.
