Hunter MP Rotator MP2000 Sprinkler Nozzles Instruction Manual

Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Hunter MP Rotator MP2000 sprinkler nozzles. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and operation to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your irrigation system. The MP Rotator MP2000 is designed for efficient water distribution, offering adjustable arc and radius for various landscape needs.

Product Overview

The Hunter MP Rotator MP2000 nozzles are multi-stream, multi-trajectory rotating nozzles that deliver water at a low precipitation rate. This design minimizes runoff and allows water to soak into the soil effectively, especially beneficial for clay soils or sloped areas. They are compatible with standard spray bodies and offer a range of adjustment for arc and radius.

This image displays five Hunter MP Rotator MP2000 sprinkler nozzles with filters. Each nozzle is black with a silver adjustment ring and includes a white filter screen at the base. These nozzles are designed for efficient and precise irrigation.

Setup and Installation

  1. Preparation: Ensure your sprinkler system's water supply is turned off before beginning installation.
  2. Remove Old Nozzle: Unscrew and remove the existing nozzle from the sprinkler body.
  3. Clean Filter: If reusing an existing sprinkler body, inspect and clean its filter screen. The MP Rotator MP2000 comes with its own filter screen, which should be inserted into the nozzle base.
  4. Install New Nozzle: Screw the MP Rotator MP2000 nozzle onto the sprinkler body until hand-tight. Do not overtighten.
  5. Adjust Arc: The arc (the angle of spray) can be adjusted by holding the nozzle body and rotating the silver adjustment ring. The MP2000 90-210 model allows adjustment from 90 to 210 degrees.
  6. Adjust Radius: The radius (the distance of spray) can be adjusted using a Hunter MP Tool or a small flat-head screwdriver. Insert the tool into the adjustment screw located on the top of the nozzle and turn clockwise to decrease the radius or counter-clockwise to increase it.
  7. Test System: Turn on the water supply and observe the spray pattern. Make fine adjustments as needed to ensure proper coverage and avoid overspray.

Operating Instructions

Once installed and adjusted, the MP Rotator MP2000 operates automatically with your irrigation controller. Its multi-stream technology ensures even water distribution across the entire radius, promoting healthier plant growth and reducing water waste. Regular observation of your system during operation is recommended to identify any potential issues or areas requiring further adjustment.

Maintenance

  • Filter Cleaning: Periodically check the filter screen at the base of the nozzle for debris. Turn off the water, unscrew the nozzle, remove the filter, and rinse it under running water. Reinstall the clean filter and nozzle.
  • Nozzle Clogging: If the nozzle's spray pattern becomes erratic or reduced, it may be clogged. Follow the filter cleaning steps. If the issue persists, gently clean the nozzle's orifices with a soft brush or a thin wire.
  • Winterization: In regions subject to freezing temperatures, ensure your irrigation system, including the nozzles, is properly winterized to prevent damage from freezing water. Consult your irrigation system's main manual for specific winterization procedures.
