1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Secura Electric Burr Coffee Grinder Mill. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new coffee grinder. Please read it thoroughly before first use and keep it for future reference.

2. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:

  1. Read all instructions.
  2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  3. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.

4. Setup

Before using your Secura coffee grinder for the first time, ensure all components are correctly assembled and secured.

  1. Place the Grinder: Position the grinder on a stable, flat surface.
  2. Secure the Burr: Ensure the burr grinding mechanism is locked into place. This is crucial for proper operation and safety.
  3. Insert Ground Coffee Bin: Slide the transparent ground coffee bin securely into its position at the base of the grinder. The grinder will not operate if the bin is not correctly placed.
  4. Place Hopper Lid: Securely place the hopper lid on top of the bean hopper. The grinder has a safety switch that prevents operation if the lid is not properly closed.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to grind your coffee beans to perfection.

  1. Add Coffee Beans: Open the hopper lid and pour whole coffee beans into the bean hopper. The hopper can hold up to 100g of coffee beans.
  2. Select Grind Size: Use the grind adjustment dial on the side of the grinder to choose your desired grind size. There are 17 settings, ranging from extra fine for Turkish coffee to coarse for French press.
  3. Select Cup Quantity: Turn the quantity control dial to select the number of cups you wish to grind, from 2 to 12 cups. The grinder will automatically stop once the selected quantity is ground.
  4. Start Grinding: Press the On/Off button to begin grinding. The grinder will operate until the selected quantity is reached or until you press the button again to stop it manually.
  5. Collect Ground Coffee: Once grinding is complete, carefully remove the ground coffee bin and pour the fresh grounds into your brewing device or storage container.

  4. Clean Ground Coffee Bin: The ground coffee bin can be washed with warm, soapy water. Ensure it is completely dry before reattaching.

  6. Reassemble: Once all parts are clean and dry, reassemble the grinder by placing the burr back into position (twist to lock), then the ground coffee bin, and finally the hopper lid.
