4. Setup and First Use
Before using your Ryobi P163 Battery and Charger Kit, ensure all components are present and undamaged. It is recommended to fully charge the battery before its initial use.

5. Charging the Battery
- Connect the Charger: Plug the P118 charger into a standard 120V AC power outlet. The 'Power On' indicator light on the charger will illuminate.
- Insert the Battery: Slide the P190 battery pack onto the charger base, ensuring it clicks securely into place.
- Monitor Charging: The 'Charging' indicator light on the charger will flash green, indicating that the battery is actively charging. Once the battery is fully charged, the 'Charged' indicator light will turn solid green.
- Remove Battery: Once fully charged, press the release latches on the battery and slide it off the charger.

Charger Indicator Lights:
- Power On (Solid Green): Charger is connected to power.
- Charging (Flashing Green): Battery is charging.
- Charged (Solid Green): Battery is fully charged.
- Testing (Flashing Orange): Battery is too hot or too cold and is waiting to reach optimal charging temperature.
- Defective (Flashing Red): Battery is faulty and cannot be charged.
- Energy Save Mode (Solid Green, lower light): Charger is in standby mode when no battery is inserted or when the battery is fully charged.
6. Checking Battery Status
The P190 battery features an on-board fuel gauge to quickly check the remaining charge. Simply press the button on the side of the battery pack to illuminate the LED indicators.
