1. Product Overview

The Compustar CS7900-AS is an all-in-one 2-way remote start and alarm bundle designed to provide enhanced security and convenience for your vehicle. This system offers a maximum range of 3000 feet, allowing you to remotely start, lock, and unlock your vehicle with confidence. The 2-way LCD remote provides visual and audible confirmation of commands, ensuring successful operation. Integrated intelligent security sensors detect intrusion, alerting you directly via the remote.

2. System Components

The CS7900-AS bundle includes the following key components:

  • 2-Way T9 LCD Remote (2WT9R-FM): An interactive remote control with an LCD screen for visual and audible command confirmation and vehicle status updates.
  • 1-Way G15 FM, 4-Button Remote (1WG15R-FM): A secondary remote control for basic remote start and alarm functions.
  • 2-Way FMX Antenna (ANT-2WFMX): The antenna responsible for transmitting and receiving signals from the remote controls.
  • Remote Start & Security Control Module (CM900): The central processing unit of the system, managing all remote start and security functions.
  • Engine Starter-Kill Relay (E-LOCK Relay): A security component that prevents the engine from starting without authorization.
  • Shock Sensor II (Dual-Stage Impact and Tilt Sensor): Detects impacts and changes in vehicle tilt, triggering the alarm.
  • Theft-Deterrent LED (Blue Security LED): A visible indicator that the alarm system is armed.
  • Alarm Siren (105+db Alarm Siren): A loud siren to alert to potential intrusion.
  • Thermistor (FT-TEMP Temperature Sensor): Measures the vehicle's interior temperature for remote start functionality.

3. Setup and Installation

Professional installation is required for the Compustar CS7900-AS system. Wiring diagrams and detailed installation instructions are not included with the consumer product and are typically provided to authorized installers. Some vehicles may require extra parts, which are sold separately.

3.1. Blade Module Flashing and Controller Programming

The iDatalink BLADE module (sold separately) is often used with Compustar systems for vehicle integration and immobilizer bypass. The following video demonstrates the process of flashing and programming the BLADE module and Compustar controller using the iDatalink Weblink software.

4. Operation

4.1. Remote Control Functions

The CS7900-AS system utilizes 2-way remote controls for comprehensive vehicle control and feedback. The 2-way LCD remote provides visual and audible confirmation of commands, ensuring you know your vehicle has responded.

  • Remote Start: Press and hold the start button to remotely start your vehicle. The remote will confirm engine status.
  • Lock/Unlock: Use the dedicated lock and unlock buttons to secure or access your vehicle.
  • Trunk Release: A dedicated button allows for remote trunk or hatch release.
  • Panic/Car Finder: Activate the panic alarm or locate your vehicle in a crowded parking lot.

4.2. Security Features

The system incorporates intelligent security sensors to protect your vehicle from intrusion.

The CS7900-AS can integrate with door, hood, trunk, and impact sensors. In the event of an intrusion, the 2-way LCD remote will alert you to the specific zone that has been triggered, providing immediate awareness of your vehicle's security status.

  • Remote Battery Replacement: The 2-way LCD remote requires 1 AAA battery. Replace the battery when the low battery indicator appears on the remote's screen.
