1. Product Overview

This document provides detailed instructions for the installation and operation of the MPC 5-Button Remote Start System. This kit is designed for specific vehicle compatibility and offers convenient remote engine starting and door control.

2. Vehicle Compatibility

This remote start system is specifically compatible with:

• Make: Lexus
• Model: RX330
• Years: 2004-2006
• Ignition Type: Key-to-Start (Conventional Key-Start ONLY). Not compatible with Push-to-Start vehicles.
• Engine Type: Gas engine only. Not for Hybrid vehicles.
• Transmission: Automatic Transmission ONLY.

The MPC 5-Button Remote Start System kit includes the following components:

• Remote Start Module
• Immobilizer Bypass Module

4. Installation Guide

Important: This is not a plug-and-play system. Basic installation knowledge is required. The installation involves making standard wiring connections within your vehicle. MPC provides a downloadable installation tip sheet with specific wire colors and locations for your vehicle model.

4.1. Preparation

• Ensure your vehicle is turned off and the parking brake is engaged.
• Disconnect the vehicle's battery to prevent electrical shorts during installation.
• Download and review the MPC exclusive copyrighted installation tip sheet for your specific vehicle. This sheet provides detailed, step-by-step instructions.

4.2. Wiring Connections

Follow the detailed instructions provided in your vehicle-specific tip sheet for all wiring connections. This includes connecting the remote start module and the immobilizer bypass module to the vehicle's electrical system. The immobilizer module will temporarily override the vehicle's immobilizer system only during remote start operation.

4.3. Module Programming

The firmware for your vehicle is preloaded onto the module. Follow the tip sheet for any necessary programming steps to synchronize the module with your vehicle's system and the remote controls.

5. Operating Instructions

The MPC 5-Button Remote Start System provides various functions via the included remote controls.

5.1. Remote Start Operation

• To start your engine remotely, press the Start button on your remote control.
• The vehicle will start and run for a pre-programmed duration (5, 10, 20, or 30 minutes, configurable).
• To turn off the engine remotely, press the Start button again.

5.2. Door Lock/Unlock

• Press the Lock button to lock your vehicle's doors.
• Press the Unlock button to unlock your vehicle's doors.

5.3. Trunk/Hatch Release

• Press and hold the Trunk/Hatch button to pop your trunk or back hatch.

5.4. Programmable Features

• Auto-Start Mode: Configure the system for 2, 3, or 4 hourly auto-start options.
• Run Time: Adjust the remote start run time to 5, 10, 20, or 30 minutes.
• Multi-Vehicle Control: The remote allows control of two vehicles if configured.

6. Maintenance

The MPC Remote Start System is designed for minimal maintenance. Keep the remote controls clean and dry. Replace remote control batteries as needed to ensure optimal range and functionality.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your remote start system, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

• System Not Responding: Check remote control battery. Ensure you are within the 1500 ft operating range.
• Engine Not Starting Remotely: Verify vehicle compatibility (Key-to-Start, Gas, Automatic Transmission). Ensure all doors, hood, and trunk are closed. Check if the parking brake is engaged.
• Remote Range Issues: Replace remote battery. Ensure no major obstructions between the remote and the vehicle.
• Installation Issues: Double-check all wiring connections against the provided tip sheet. Ensure proper module programming.
