Introduction
The Hunter MP3000 MP Rotator Sprinkler Nozzle is designed for efficient and uniform water distribution in landscape irrigation systems. This nozzle utilizes a unique multi-path rotating stream delivery system to conserve water by allowing it to gently penetrate the soil, reducing runoff and increasing overall irrigation efficiency. It is compatible with conventional spray head bodies and bush adapters, offering flexibility for both new and existing systems.
Safety Information
Please read and understand all instructions before installing or operating the sprinkler nozzles. Observe the following safety guidelines:
- Always turn off the water supply before performing any installation, adjustment, or maintenance.
- Do not operate the irrigation system if any components are damaged.
- Keep small parts away from children to prevent choking hazards.
- Ensure proper sealing of all connections to prevent leaks and water waste.
Package Contents
Your package contains the following items:
- 3 x Hunter MP3000 MP Rotator Sprinkler Nozzles
Setup and Installation
The MP3000 MP Rotator nozzle is designed with female threading for easy installation onto any standard Hunter or Rainbird spray body. For optimal performance and water conservation, it is recommended to use these nozzles with a pressure-regulated spray body, such as the Rainbird 1804-SAM-PRS.
- Prepare the Spray Body: Ensure the spray body is clean and free of debris. If replacing an old nozzle, remove it carefully.
- Thread the Nozzle: Screw the MP3000 MP Rotator nozzle onto the male threaded riser of the spray body. Hand-tighten until snug. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the nozzle or spray body.
- Align the Nozzle: Once installed, you can adjust the direction of the nozzle by gently rotating the entire spray body or the nozzle itself if the spray body allows.
- Check for Leaks: Turn on the water supply and observe for any leaks around the nozzle connection. If leaks occur, turn off the water, unscrew the nozzle, re-tape the threads if necessary, and re-install.

Operating Instructions
The MP3000 MP Rotator delivers multiple streams of water at a steady, slower rate, allowing for better soil penetration and reduced water waste. The nozzle features adjustable arc and radius settings to customize coverage for your specific landscape needs.
Arc Adjustment (90° - 210°)
The arc, or the width of the spray pattern, can be adjusted between 90 and 210 degrees. To adjust the arc:
- With the water running, hold the nozzle body steady.
- Rotate the top collar of the nozzle clockwise to increase the arc or counter-clockwise to decrease it.
- Adjust until the desired spray pattern is achieved.
Radius Adjustment (22' - 30')
The radius, or the distance the water travels, can be adjusted from 22 to 30 feet. The radius can also be reduced by up to 25% on all models. To adjust the radius:
- A specialized Hunter MP Rotator Tool (not included) is recommended for precise radius adjustment.
- Insert the MP Rotator Tool into the designated slot on the top of the nozzle.
- Turn the tool clockwise to decrease the radius or counter-clockwise to increase it.
- Adjust until the desired throw distance is achieved.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your MP3000 MP Rotator nozzles.
- Cleaning: Periodically inspect the nozzle for any debris or mineral buildup that might obstruct the rotating streams. If necessary, gently clean the nozzle with a soft brush and water. Do not use harsh chemicals.
- Filter Screen: Most spray bodies have an internal filter screen. Check and clean this screen regularly to prevent clogs in the nozzle.
- Winterization: In regions subject to freezing temperatures, it is crucial to properly winterize your irrigation system. This typically involves shutting off the main water supply, draining all lines, and using compressed air to blow out any remaining water from the system to prevent freeze damage to nozzles and pipes.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your MP3000 MP Rotator nozzles, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Nozzle does not pop out or retract fully. | Low water pressure; debris in spray body; damaged spring. | Check system pressure; clean spray body and filter screen; replace spray body if spring is damaged. |
| Uneven water distribution or streams. | Clogged nozzle; incorrect arc/radius setting; low pressure. | Clean nozzle openings; adjust arc and radius settings; verify adequate water pressure. |
| Arc or radius adjustment not working. | Nozzle mechanism is stuck or damaged; incorrect adjustment method. | Ensure proper use of the MP Rotator Tool for radius adjustment; if stuck, try gently cleaning; replace nozzle if damaged. |
| Water leaks from the base of the nozzle. | Loose connection; damaged O-ring or threads. | Tighten nozzle connection; inspect and replace O-rings or spray body if threads are damaged. |
