2. Safety Information

6. Setup Guide

6.1. Download the Smart Life App

  1. Scan the QR code provided in the product packaging or search for "Smart Life" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Download and install the app.
  3. Register an account or log in if you already have one.

6.2. Plug in the Device

  1. Plug the Amysen Wifi Smart Plug into a standard wall outlet.
  2. Ensure the LED indicator light on the plug illuminates, indicating it is powered on.

6.3. Pairing with the Smart Life App

  1. Open the Smart Life app.
  2. Tap the "+" icon in the top right corner or "Add Device".
  3. Select "Electrical Outlet" from the list of devices.
  4. On the smart plug, press and hold the power button for approximately 5 seconds until the LED indicator light rapidly blinks. This indicates pairing mode.
  5. In the app, confirm that the indicator light is rapidly blinking.
  6. Enter your home's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network password. Note: The smart plug only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. If your router has both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, ensure your phone is connected to the 2.4GHz network during setup.
  7. The app will begin connecting to the device. Once connected, the LED indicator on the plug will stop blinking and remain solid.
  8. You can then assign the smart plug to a specific room and rename it for easier identification.

6.4. Connecting to Voice Assistants (Amazon Alexa / Google Assistant)

  1. Ensure your smart plug is successfully paired with the Smart Life app.
  2. Open your Amazon Alexa or Google Home app.
  3. Navigate to the "Skills & Games" section (Alexa) or "Works with Google" / "Set up device" (Google Home).
  4. Search for the "Smart Life" skill/service.
  5. Enable the skill/service and link your Smart Life account using your Smart Life app credentials.
  6. Once linked, discover devices. Your Amysen Smart Plug should appear.
  7. You can then assign the smart plug to rooms or groups within the Alexa/Google Home app for easier voice control.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1. Manual Control

Press the power button on the side of the smart plug to manually turn the connected appliance on or off. The LED indicator will change state (on/off) accordingly.

7.2. App Control

Open the Smart Life app, select your smart plug, and tap the power icon to toggle the connected appliance on or off. You can also access advanced features like scheduling and timers within the app.

7.3. Voice Control

Once linked to Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, use voice commands to control your devices. For example:

  • "Alexa, turn on the living room light."
  • "Hey Google, turn off the fan."

7.4. Scheduling and Timers

Within the Smart Life app, you can set up various schedules and timers:

  • Schedule: Program devices to turn on or off at specific times on specific days. For example, turn on a lamp every weekday at 6:00 PM.
  • Timer: Set a countdown timer for a device to turn off after a set duration.
  • Circulate: Set a device to cycle on and off at regular intervals.

8. Maintenance

  • Keep the smart plug clean and dry. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Regularly check for firmware updates in the Smart Life app to ensure optimal performance and security.

9. Troubleshooting

9.1. Device Not Connecting to Wi-Fi

  • Check Wi-Fi Band: Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal and your phone is connected to it during setup. The smart plug does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
  • Wi-Fi Signal Strength: Make sure the smart plug is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
  • Router Distance: During initial setup, keep the smart plug, your phone, and the router as close as possible.
  • Password Accuracy: Double-check that you are entering the correct Wi-Fi password.
  • Reset Device: If the indicator light is not blinking rapidly, press and hold the power button on the plug for 5 seconds to enter pairing mode.

9.2. Voice Control Not Working

  • Account Linking: Verify that your Smart Life account is correctly linked to your Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant app.
  • Device Discovery: Ensure the smart plug has been discovered by your voice assistant. You may need to re-discover devices in the Alexa/Google Home app.
  • Device Name: Use the exact name you assigned to the smart plug in the Smart Life app or voice assistant app. Avoid generic names if you have multiple devices.
  • Internet Connection: Confirm that both your smart plug and voice assistant device have a stable internet connection.

9.3. Schedules Not Activating

  • Time Zone: Check that the time zone in your Smart Life app is correctly set.
  • Schedule Status: Ensure the schedule is enabled within the Smart Life app.
  • Internet Connection: A stable internet connection is required for schedules to sync and execute reliably.
