1. Important Safety Information
Read and understand all safety precautions before operating the generator. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or death.
- Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Generators produce carbon monoxide, an odorless, colorless gas that can kill you. Operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, far from windows, doors, and vents. Never operate indoors, in a garage, or in partially enclosed spaces.
- Fire Hazard: Gasoline is highly flammable. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Do not smoke or allow open flames near the generator. Store fuel in an approved container.
- Electrical Shock Hazard: Do not operate the generator in wet conditions. Ensure all electrical connections are secure and dry. Never touch live electrical components.
- Hot Surfaces: The generator's engine and muffler become very hot during operation and remain hot for a period after shutdown. Avoid touching hot surfaces to prevent burns.
- Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the generator, especially during operation.
2. Setup and Initial Preparation
2.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully remove the generator from its packaging. Inspect for any damage that may have occurred during shipping. Report any damage to your dealer immediately.
2.2 Adding Engine Oil
The generator is shipped without engine oil. Before first use, add the recommended amount and type of oil (refer to the specifications section). Place the generator on a level surface. Remove the oil fill cap/dipstick and slowly pour in the oil until it reaches the upper mark on the dipstick.
2.3 Adding Fuel
Use only fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Ensure the generator is off and cool before refueling. Open the fuel cap and fill the tank, leaving a small space for expansion. Do not overfill. Securely close the fuel cap.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Control Panel Overview

Image: The control panel of the PAXCESS P2000i generator, showing the Output Indicator, Economy Throttle switch, Overload Alarm, Low Oil Alarm, 120V AC 30A outlet, 120V AC 20A outlet, Ground terminal, 5V 1A USB port, 12V DC output, DC Circuit breaker, Multi-switch (OFF/RUN/CHOKE), and Parallel output.
3.2 Starting the Generator
- Ensure the generator is on a level surface and away from any obstructions.
- Turn the fuel cap vent lever to the 'ON' position.
- Move the Multi-switch to the 'CHOKE' position (if the engine is cold).
- Pull the recoil starter handle firmly until the engine starts.
- Once the engine starts, slowly move the Multi-switch to the 'RUN' position.
- Allow the generator to warm up for a few minutes before connecting electrical loads.
3.3 Connecting Electrical Devices
Connect your electrical devices to the appropriate outlets (120V AC, 12V DC, or USB). Ensure the total wattage of connected devices does not exceed the generator's running wattage (1600W) to avoid overload. The generator is equipped with a 120V 30A RV outlet, a 120V 20A household outlet, a 12V DC receiver, and a 5V USB port.
3.4 Eco Mode Operation
The Economy Throttle switch allows the generator to automatically adjust engine speed to match the load. This reduces fuel consumption and noise levels when less power is required. For maximum power output or when starting high-load devices, switch Eco Mode off.
3.5 Parallel Operation
The PAXCESS P2000i is parallel-ready, allowing you to connect two 2000W generators together to double the power output. Use a PAXCESS-approved parallel kit (sold separately) and follow the instructions provided with the kit for safe connection.

3.6 Stopping the Generator
- Disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.
- Allow the generator to run for a few minutes without load to cool down.
- Move the Multi-switch to the 'OFF' position.
- Turn the fuel cap vent lever to the 'OFF' position.
4. Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of your generator.
4.1 Engine Oil Change
Change the engine oil after the first 20 hours of operation, and then every 50-100 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Refer to the owner's manual for detailed instructions on draining and refilling oil.
4.2 Air Filter Cleaning/Replacement
Inspect the air filter every 50 hours or more frequently in dusty conditions. Clean or replace the air filter as needed to ensure proper engine performance.
4.3 Spark Plug Inspection
Inspect the spark plug every 100 hours or annually. Clean or replace if necessary. Ensure the correct gap is maintained.
4.4 Storage
For long-term storage (more than 30 days), drain the fuel tank and carburetor, or add a fuel stabilizer. Change the engine oil. Store the generator in a clean, dry place.
5. Troubleshooting
If your generator experiences issues, consult the following common troubleshooting steps:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Engine will not start | No fuel, low oil, choke not set, spark plug issue | Add fuel, add oil, adjust choke, inspect/replace spark plug |
| No power output | Overload, circuit breaker tripped, Eco Mode on (for high load) | Reduce load, reset circuit breaker, turn off Eco Mode |
| Engine runs rough | Stale fuel, dirty air filter, spark plug issue | Drain/refill with fresh fuel, clean/replace air filter, inspect/replace spark plug |
| Overload indicator on | Too many devices connected | Reduce the total wattage of connected devices |
If problems persist after following these steps, contact PAXCESS customer support.
