3. Setup and Installation
The AdirOffice Wall Mount Drop Box is designed for wall mounting. Choose a secure and appropriate location for installation.
3.1. Choosing a Location
- Select a sturdy wall surface capable of supporting the 11-pound weight of the drop box, plus the weight of its contents.
- Consider accessibility for depositing items and retrieving them.
- For optimal security, install in a location that is not easily accessible to unauthorized individuals.
- If installing outdoors, ensure the location is sheltered from direct weather exposure, as the drop slot is not designed to be waterproof.

3.2. Mounting Instructions
- Prepare the Mounting Surface: Identify the desired mounting height and position. Ensure there are no electrical wires or plumbing behind the wall at the drilling points.
- Mark Drilling Points: Hold the drop box against the wall at the desired height. Use a pencil to mark the locations of the mounting holes on the back of the unit.

- Drill Pilot Holes: Using an appropriate drill bit for your wall type (e.g., wood, drywall, masonry), drill pilot holes at the marked locations. If drilling into drywall without a stud, use the provided wall anchors.
- Secure the Drop Box: Align the mounting holes on the back of the drop box with the drilled holes. Insert the provided screws through the drop box and into the wall/anchors. Tighten securely.
- Test Stability: Gently pull on the installed drop box to ensure it is firmly attached to the wall and does not wobble.

5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
- Lock Care: Periodically apply a small amount of graphite lubricant to the lock mechanism to ensure smooth operation. Do not use oil-based lubricants.
- Inspection: Regularly check the mounting hardware for tightness. Re-tighten screws if necessary to maintain secure installation.
- Key Management: Keep spare keys in a secure location separate from the drop box.
6. Troubleshooting
- Difficulty Inserting Key: Ensure the key is fully inserted and oriented correctly. If the lock is stiff, apply graphite lubricant.
- Door Not Opening/Closing Smoothly: Check for any obstructions in the hinge mechanism or around the door frame. Ensure the lock is fully disengaged before attempting to open.
- Drop Box Feels Loose on Wall: Re-tighten all mounting screws. If the wall anchors are compromised, consider relocating the drop box or using stronger anchors.
- Lost Keys: Contact AdirOffice customer support for assistance with key replacement. Note that proof of ownership may be required.
