3. Safety Precautions
To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, or damage to the unit, please observe the following safety guidelines:
- Power Source: Connect the unit only to an AC 110V/60Hz power outlet.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation. Do not block ventilation openings. Maintain at least 4 inches (10 cm) of space around the unit for proper airflow.
- Water and Moisture: Do not expose the unit to rain, moisture, dripping, or splashing. Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the unit.
- Heat: Do not place the unit near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
- Cleaning: Unplug the unit from the wall outlet before cleaning. Use a dry cloth only.
- Servicing: Do not attempt to service this product yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

4.1 Front Panel Controls
The front panel provides access to essential controls and indicators for the DV4000 receiver.

5. Setup and Connections
5.1 Speaker Installation (Rockville HC85 In-Ceiling Speakers)
The Rockville HC85 speakers are designed for flush in-ceiling installation. Professional installation is recommended for optimal results and safety.

- Choose Location: Select appropriate locations in your ceiling, ensuring no obstructions (joists, wiring, plumbing).
- Cut-out: Use the provided template (if applicable) or measure the cut-out diameter (9.3 inches) and carefully cut a hole in the ceiling.
- Wiring: Run speaker wire (minimum 16-gauge recommended) from the DV4000 receiver to each speaker location.
- Connect Speakers: Connect the speaker wires to the spring-loaded push terminals on the back of each HC85 speaker. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -).
- Mount Speakers: Insert the speaker into the cut-out. The mounting clamps will secure the speaker to the ceiling as you tighten the screws on the front baffle.
- Attach Grille: Once mounted, attach the paintable flush-mount grille.
5.2 System Connections
Before making any connections, ensure the DV4000 receiver is turned off and unplugged from the power outlet.
- Connect Speakers to Receiver: Connect the speaker wires from your in-ceiling speakers to the corresponding speaker output terminals on the rear of the DV4000. Match the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals carefully. The DV4000 supports 2 main speakers and 3 surround speakers.
- Connect to TV/Display: Use an appropriate video cable (RCA, YUV, or RGB) to connect the DV4000's video output to your TV or projector's video input.
- Connect External Audio Sources (Optional): Use RCA cables to connect external audio devices (e.g., CD player, cassette deck) to the AUX1 or AUX2 input jacks on the rear panel.
- Connect FM Antenna: Attach the included FM antenna to the FM antenna input on the rear panel. Extend the antenna for better reception.
- Power Connection: Once all other connections are made, plug the power cord into the DV4000's power input and then into a wall outlet.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Basic Operation
- Power On/Off: Press the Power button on the front panel or remote control to turn the unit on or off.
- Input Selection: Press the Input Selector button on the front panel or the corresponding source button on the remote (e.g., DVD, AUX, FM, USB, SD, BT) to choose your desired audio/video source.
- Volume Control: Rotate the Master Volume knob on the front panel or use the VOL+/- buttons on the remote to adjust the overall sound level.
- Bass/Treble: Use the BASS and TREBLE knobs on the front panel to fine-tune the audio's low and high frequencies.
6.2 DVD/CD Playback
- Select the DVD input source.
- Press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the front panel or remote to open the disc tray.
- Place a DVD or CD disc gently into the tray with the label side facing up.
- Press OPEN/CLOSE again to close the tray. The unit will automatically begin playback.
- Use the PLAY, PAUSE, STOP, NEXT, PREV, and FAST FORWARD/REWIND buttons on the remote for playback control.
6.3 Bluetooth Operation
- Select the BT (Bluetooth) input source. The display will show "BT" and the unit will enter pairing mode.
- On your Bluetooth-enabled device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
- Select "Technical Pro DV4000" (or similar name) from the list of devices.
- Once paired, you can play audio from your device through the DV4000 system.
- Bluetooth range is approximately 45 feet.
6.4 USB/SD Card Playback
- Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port or an SD card into the SD card slot on the front panel.
- Select the USB or SD input source. The unit will automatically detect and begin playing compatible audio/video files.
- Use the playback controls on the front panel or remote to navigate through files and control playback. Supports up to 32GB.
6.5 FM Tuner Operation
- Select the FM input source.
- Press the AUTO SCAN button on the remote to automatically scan and save available FM stations.
- Use the PREV/NEXT buttons to cycle through saved stations or manually tune to a frequency.
6.6 Microphone Operation
- Connect a 1/4" microphone cable to either the MIC1 or MIC2 input on the front panel.
- Adjust the MIC VOL knob to control the microphone's volume.
- Adjust the ECHO knob to add an echo effect to the microphone's output.

9. Care and Maintenance
