Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your EKO Dual Compartment Stainless Steel Recycle Step Trash Can. This unit features two separate compartments, 30L and 15L, designed for efficient waste separation. - Durable Cantilever Foot Pedals: Robust foot pedals provide hands-free operation for each compartment.
- Soft-Close Damper Lid: Lids close gently and quietly, preventing slamming.
- "Easy Lock" Stay-Open Lid Mechanism: Lids can be locked in the open position for extended use or during liner changes.

Setup and Assembly
- Unboxing: Carefully remove the trash can from its packaging. Inspect for any damage.
- Placement: Position the trash can on a flat, stable surface. Ensure adequate clearance for the lids to open fully, especially if placed against a wall.
- Insert Inner Liners: Place the two polypropylene inner liners into their respective compartments. The larger liner goes into the 30L compartment, and the smaller into the 15L compartment.
- Attach Trash Bags: Drape your trash bags over the rim of each inner liner. Utilize the plastic bag stabilizer cut-out to secure the bag and prevent slippage.
- Deodorizer (Optional): If desired, place an odor absorber into the built-in deodorizer compartment located under the lid.

Operating Instructions
- Opening the Lid: Gently press down on the corresponding foot pedal to open the lid of the desired compartment. Release the pedal to allow the lid to close softly.
- Using the Stay-Open Lid: For longer tasks, such as preparing food or changing liners, manually lift the lid until it clicks into the "Easy Lock" stay-open position. To close, gently push the lid down to disengage the lock.
- Emptying Liners: When an inner liner is full, use the stay-open lid feature. Lift the inner liner by its handle and remove it for emptying.

Maintenance and Care
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the stainless steel exterior with a soft, damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Dry immediately with a soft cloth to prevent water spots. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbers, which can damage the finish.
- Inner Liner Cleaning: The polypropylene inner liners can be washed with soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before returning them to the trash can.
- Lid Mechanism: Periodically check the soft-close and stay-open mechanisms for smooth operation. Keep the hinge areas free of debris.
- Deodorizer Replacement: Replace odor absorbers in the deodorizer compartment as needed to maintain freshness.
