3. Setup

  1. Place your 1080p wireless cameras in desired locations. The magnetic base simplifies mounting.
  2. Connect each wireless camera to a power outlet using its dedicated power adapter.
  3. The cameras will automatically attempt to pair with the DVR. If pairing does not occur automatically, refer to the DVR's on-screen menu for manual pairing instructions.

3.4 Network Connection and Mobile App Setup

To enable remote viewing and access advanced features, connect your DVR to the internet and set up the mobile application.

  1. Connect DVR to Network: Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the LAN port on your DVR and the other end to an available port on your router or network switch.
  2. Smart Auto Detection: Your DVR supports Smart Auto Detection. Ensure your smart device (phone/tablet) and DVR are on the same network during initial setup. The Night Owl X app will automatically detect your DVR, simplifying the connection process.
  3. Download Mobile App: For remote viewing on your iOS® or Android™ device, download the appropriate Night Owl app from your device's app store.

  1. Create Account/Sign In: Open the app, create a new account, or sign in with existing credentials.

4. Operating the System

4.1 Live View

Once cameras are connected and configured, you can view live footage on your connected monitor or through the Night Owl mobile app. Use the USB mouse to navigate the DVR interface on the monitor.

  • On DVR: The main screen typically displays a multi-channel view. Double-click a camera feed to view it in full screen.
  • On Mobile App: Select your DVR from the device list to access live camera feeds.

4.2 Recording

The DVR is configured to record automatically. You can customize recording settings:
