Setup
- Connect Power: Plug the compressor's 12V power cable into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket. Ensure the vehicle engine is running to provide stable power.
- Prepare Hose: Uncoil the air hose from the compressor.
- Attach Nozzle: For vehicle tires, screw the air hose connector directly onto the tire valve stem. For other inflatables, select the appropriate nozzle adapter and attach it to the air hose, then insert it into the item's inflation port.
- Set Desired Pressure: Use the digital display and control buttons on the compressor to set your target pressure (e.g., PSI, BAR, KPA). Consult your vehicle's manual or tire sidewall for recommended tire pressure.
Operating Instructions
- Initiate Inflation: With the power connected and the nozzle securely attached, flip the power switch on the compressor to the "ON" position. The compressor will begin to inflate the item.
- Monitor Progress: The digital display will show the current pressure. The compressor is designed for fast inflation, typically taking 4-5 minutes for a standard car tire.
- Automatic Shut-off: The Sparco SPT160 features an automatic safety shutdown. Once the preset pressure is reached, the compressor will automatically turn off.
- Disconnect: Turn the power switch to "OFF". Carefully unscrew the nozzle from the valve stem. Be aware that the nozzle may be warm after use.
- Store: Coil the air hose and power cable neatly and store the compressor in its designated storage area.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the compressor with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the compressor is unplugged before cleaning.
- Storage: Store the compressor in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the hose and power cable are neatly coiled to prevent damage.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the air hose, power cable, and connectors for any signs of wear, cracks, or damage. Do not use the compressor if any components are damaged.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Compressor does not turn on. | No power from 12V socket; faulty connection; vehicle engine off. | Ensure 12V socket is functional. Check connection. Start vehicle engine. Check compressor's power switch. |
| Slow inflation. | Air leak in hose/nozzle; low vehicle battery voltage. | Check all connections for leaks. Ensure vehicle engine is running. |
| Compressor overheats and shuts off. | Extended continuous use. | Allow the compressor to cool down for at least 15-20 minutes before resuming operation. |
| Inaccurate pressure reading. | Gauge malfunction; incorrect unit setting. | Verify pressure with a separate, reliable gauge (like the included Sparco mascot gauge). Ensure the correct pressure unit (PSI, BAR, KPA) is selected. |
