Setup

1. Inflation

  1. Unfold the boat on a clean, flat surface free of sharp objects.
  2. Locate the Boston valves on each air chamber. The Seahawk 3 has three main air chambers.
  3. Open the outer cap of the Boston valve. Insert the nozzle of the high-output hand pump into the valve.
  4. Inflate each chamber sequentially until it is firm to the touch but not hard. Do not overinflate. The I-beam floor should be inflated last.
  5. Once inflated, quickly remove the pump nozzle and close the inner and outer caps of the Boston valve securely. Ensure all valves are tightly sealed.

Operating Instructions

1. Launching the Boat

  • Carefully carry the inflated boat to the water's edge. Avoid dragging it over rough surfaces.
  • Ensure the water is deep enough to prevent the boat from scraping the bottom.
  • Enter the boat one person at a time, distributing weight evenly.

2. Rowing

  • Sit comfortably on the inflatable seats.
  • Place your hands on the oar handles and use a smooth, coordinated motion to propel the boat.
  • The oar holders allow for easy rowing and can be used to secure the oars when not in use.

3. General Use

  • Always maintain a safe distance from other watercraft and swimmers.
  • Avoid standing up in the boat while on the water to maintain stability.
  • If equipped, use the grab rope for assistance when entering or exiting the boat, or for holding onto in choppy water.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

  • After each use, rinse the boat thoroughly with fresh water to remove salt, sand, or dirt.
  • Use a mild soap solution and a soft cloth to clean stubborn stains. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Ensure the boat is completely dry before deflating and storing to prevent mildew.

2. Storage

  • Deflate all air chambers by opening the Boston valves.
  • Fold the boat loosely to avoid sharp creases.
  • Store the boat in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

3. Repairing Leaks

  • If a small leak occurs, locate it by applying soapy water to the inflated surface; bubbles will indicate the leak.
  • Clean and dry the area around the leak.
  • Apply a repair patch from the included kit according to the kit's instructions. Allow sufficient time for the adhesive to cure before reinflating.

Troubleshooting

  • Boat loses air quickly: Check all Boston valves to ensure they are tightly closed. Inspect the boat surface for punctures or seam leaks. Use the repair kit for small punctures.
  • Difficulty inflating: Ensure the pump nozzle is fully inserted into the Boston valve and the valve's inner cap is open during inflation.
  • Oars do not stay in place: Verify that the oars are correctly assembled and securely placed in the oar locks.
