2. Compatibility and Pre-Installation
This tonneau cover is compatible with 2019-2025 Ram 1500 New Body Style trucks with a 5'7" (67") Bed. It is designed for models without a Utility Track System and is not compatible with 2019-2025 Classic models, models with RamBox, or Multi-Function (Split) Tailgate.
Before installation, ensure all parts are accounted for. Refer to the packing list provided with your product. If your truck bed's front rail is lower than the side rails, apply the included weather strip along the front rail to fill the gap and ensure a proper seal.

3. Installation Instructions
The MaxMate Soft Roll-up Tonneau Cover is designed for easy no-drilling installation. Follow these steps carefully:
3.1. Prepare the Truck Bed
- If your truck has an over-the-bedrail bedliner, small holes may need to be cut to secure the clamps. Under-the-bedrail bedliners do not require modification.
- If the front bed rail is lower than the side rails, apply the provided weather strip along the front rail to create a level surface.

3.2. Position the Cover Assembly
- Place the rolled-up cover assembly (with the flat horizontal piece) onto the cab-side bed rails.
- Temporarily loosen the screws on the bulkhead (front part of the cover assembly).

3.3. Install Side Rails
- Take the side rails and carefully slide their ends into the bulkhead.
- Ensure the side rails line up with the inner side of the bed on both sides. Be very careful not to pinch the tarp between the side rail and the bulkhead during this step.
- Once aligned, tighten the screws on the bulkhead.
3.4. Secure Side Rails with Clamps
- Evenly distribute the provided clamps along each side rail. The number of clamps may vary (4, 6, or 8) depending on your specific model and bed size.
- When tightening the clamps, ensure they sit all the way inside the channels on the side rail, not just on the edge.
- Carefully tighten the clamps. Do not overtighten, as this can cause the side rails to collapse and misalign the cover.
- For specific models like Toyota or Nissan with utility tracks that block access to the bottom lip of the bed rails, use the custom clamps provided in your package.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Unrolling and Securing the Cover
- Unhook the safety straps from the rolled-up cover.
- Unfurl the cover along the bed towards the tailgate.
- Once fully extended, try locking the latch mechanism at the tailgate. You should hear a click sound when a good latch is achieved.
- If the latch head doesn't reach the tension plate or doesn't stay latched, adjust the tarp along the sides to ensure it's fully stretched out.
- If issues persist, consider repositioning the tension plate along the rail by loosening its screws.

4.2. Tailgate Operation
- The cover is designed to be locked and cannot be opened until you unlock your truck's tailgate.
- Test the tailgate by closing and opening it with the cover installed. Ensure the tension plate and cable operate smoothly.

5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the vinyl cover regularly with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the material.
- Weather Seal Check: Periodically inspect the weather seals along the bed rails and bulkhead for any signs of wear or damage. If you notice any gaps or daylight from inside the bed, apply an additional layer of weather stripping on top of the existing one to prevent water leakage.
- Hardware Check: Regularly check all clamps and screws to ensure they remain tight. Retighten as necessary, but avoid overtightening.
- Vinyl Condition: The cover is dual-coated and made of heavy-duty 24oz. marine-grade vinyl. Maintain its condition by keeping it clean and free of debris.
6. Troubleshooting
- Cover Not Latching Securely:
- Ensure the tarp is fully stretched out.
- Check if the latch head is horizontally in the groove of the tension plate and not digging too deep into the bed rail.
- Consider repositioning the tension plate along the rail by loosening its screws and adjusting its position.
- Water Leakage:
- Inspect the weather strip at the front bed rail. If daylight is visible from inside the bed, apply an additional layer of weather stripping.
- Ensure all clamps are securely tightened, but not overtightened, to maintain proper rail alignment and seal.
- Side Rails Collapsing or Misaligning:
- This is often caused by overtightening the clamps. Loosen the clamps slightly and ensure they are seated correctly within the side rail channels before retightening.
