2. Product Overview

4. Setup

4.1 Initial Network Configuration

The camera is shipped with a fixed IP address. To integrate it into your network, you may need to adjust your computer's network settings temporarily or change the camera's IP address to match your network's subnet. It is recommended to have basic IT network knowledge for this step.

1. Connect the Camera: Connect the camera to your router or network switch using an Ethernet cable. Connect the 12V DC power adapter to the camera and a power outlet.
2. Identify Camera IP: Use the provided CMS software or a network scanner tool to discover the camera's default IP address.
3. Configure Network Settings:
   • If the camera's default IP is not in your network's range, temporarily change your computer's IP address to be in the same subnet as the camera.
   • Access the camera's web interface via a web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer) by entering its IP address.
   • Navigate to the network settings and change the camera's IP address to a static IP within your network's range, or enable DHCP if your network supports it and you prefer dynamic IP assignment.
   • Save the settings and revert your computer's IP address to its original configuration.
4. Verify Connection: Ping the camera's new IP address from your computer to confirm network connectivity.

4.2 Physical Installation

The ELP IP6100DA is a dome-style camera suitable for ceiling or wall mounting. Ensure the mounting surface is stable and can support the camera's weight.

1. Choose a Location: Select a location that provides the desired viewing angle and is within reach of power and network connections. Consider areas like home entrances, offices, or garden perimeters.
2. Mark Drilling Points: Use the camera's base as a template to mark the drilling points for the mounting screws.
3. Drill Holes: Drill pilot holes at the marked points and insert the provided wall plugs if mounting on masonry.
4. Secure the Camera: Route the cables through the mounting surface or a cable channel. Align the camera base with the drilled holes and secure it using the mounting screws.
5. Adjust Angle: Loosen the adjustment screws on the dome to position the camera lens for the optimal viewing angle. Tighten the screws once adjusted.

4.3 Software Installation (CMS Client)

The included CMS (Central Management Software) client allows for comprehensive management, viewing, and recording of your camera feed.

1. Insert CD: Insert the provided software CD into your computer's CD/DVD drive.
2. Run Installer: Locate and run the installer file for the CMS client. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
3. Launch CMS: After installation, launch the CMS application.
4. Add Camera: In the CMS software, add your camera by entering its IP address, port, username, and password. Refer to the CMS software's specific instructions for detailed steps.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Accessing the Camera

You can access the camera feed and settings through two primary methods:

• Web Browser (Internet Explorer): Open Internet Explorer and enter the camera's IP address in the address bar. You may be prompted to install a plugin for live viewing. Enter your username and password to access the interface.
• CMS Client: Launch the installed CMS software. Select your added camera from the device list to view the live feed and access various settings.

5.2 Image Settings

Within the camera's web interface or CMS client, you can adjust image parameters:

• Saturation: Adjust the intensity of colors.
• Brightness: Control the overall lightness or darkness of the image.
• Contrast: Modify the difference between light and dark areas.

These settings can be found under the "Image" or "Video" configuration sections.

5.3 Motion Detection

The camera supports motion detection to trigger alarms or recordings when movement is detected in the monitored area.

5.5 Night Vision

The camera automatically switches to night vision mode in low-light conditions, utilizing its 24 IR LEDs to provide clear black and white images. Ensure no obstructions are blocking the IR LEDs for optimal performance.

• Cleaning: Regularly clean the camera lens and dome cover with a soft, dry cloth to ensure clear image quality. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
• Firmware Updates: Periodically check the manufacturer's website for firmware updates. Updating firmware can improve performance, add features, and enhance security. Follow the provided instructions carefully during the update process.
• Cable Inspection: Inspect all cables (power and Ethernet) for any signs of wear or damage, especially in outdoor installations.
