2. Important Safety Information

4.1 Front Panel Controls
- Display Screen: Central screen for track browsing, waveform display, and settings.
- Browse/Tag List/Info/Menu/Deck 1/2 Buttons: Navigation and selection controls for the display.
- Jog Wheels: For scratching, pitch bending, and track searching.

5. Setup
5.1 Connecting Power
- Ensure the XDJ-RR is powered off.
- Connect the supplied power cable to the DC IN port on the rear panel.
- Plug the other end of the power cable into a suitable power outlet.
5.2 Connecting Audio Output
Connect your speakers or amplifier to the XDJ-RR's master outputs.
- For balanced connections (recommended for long cables or professional setups): Use XLR cables to connect the MASTER 1 (XLR) outputs to your amplifier or powered speakers.
- For unbalanced connections: Use RCA cables to connect the MASTER 2 (RCA) outputs to your amplifier or powered speakers.
5.3 Connecting Headphones
Plug your headphones into the headphone jack on the front panel.
5.4 Connecting USB Storage Devices
Prepare your USB device with music files analyzed by rekordbox. Insert the USB device into one of the USB (Type A) ports on the top panel.
5.5 Connecting to a Computer (rekordbox DJ)
To use the XDJ-RR as a controller for rekordbox DJ software:
- Install rekordbox software on your computer.
- Connect the XDJ-RR to your computer using the supplied USB (Type B) cable.
- Launch rekordbox and activate the performance mode.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Powering On/Off
- To Power On: Ensure all connections are secure, then flip the POWER ON/OFF switch on the rear panel to the "ON" position.
- To Power Off: Flip the POWER ON/OFF switch to the "OFF" position.
6.2 Loading Tracks
- Insert a USB device into a USB (Type A) port.
- Use the BROWSE knob and buttons to navigate through your music library on the display screen.
- Select a track and press the LOAD button for either Deck 1 or Deck 2 to load it.
6.3 Basic Playback and Mixing
- Play/Pause: Press the ►/∥ button to start or pause playback.
- Cue: Press the CUE button to set a cue point or return to the set cue point.
- Tempo: Adjust the TEMPO slider to change the track's speed (BPM).
- Sync: Press the SYNC button to automatically match the BPM of one deck to the master deck.
- EQ: Use the HIGH, MID, and LOW knobs in the mixer section to adjust the frequency balance of each channel.
- Channel Faders: Adjust the volume of each deck.
- Crossfader: Blend between Deck 1 and Deck 2.
- Master Level: Adjust the overall output volume.
6.4 Performance Features
- Hot Cues: Use the HOT CUE pads to instantly jump to pre-set points in a track.
- Beat Loop: Engage the BEAT LOOP pads to create instant loops of various lengths.
- Beat FX: Select an effect (e.g., Echo, Reverb) and adjust its parameters using the dedicated controls.
- Sound Color FX: Apply effects like Filter or Noise to individual channels using the dedicated knobs.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
- Always disconnect the power cable before cleaning.
- Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces.
- For stubborn dirt, lightly dampen the cloth with water and a mild detergent, then wipe dry immediately.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish.
7.2 Storage
- Store the unit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- If storing for an extended period, cover the unit to protect it from dust.
