Product Overview and Components

- Head Joint: Contains the mouthpiece and windway.
- Middle Joint: The main body with most finger holes.
- Foot Joint: The bottom section with the lowest finger hole.

Setup
- Assembly: Gently twist the middle joint onto the head joint, aligning the finger holes. Then, attach the foot joint to the middle joint. Ensure all joints are securely fitted but do not force them.
- Hand Position: Hold the recorder with your left hand at the top (near the mouthpiece) and your right hand at the bottom. Your left thumb covers the back thumb hole, and your left index, middle, and ring fingers cover the top three holes. Your right index, middle, and ring fingers cover the next three holes, and your right pinky covers the lowest hole.
- Fingering Chart: Refer to the included fingering chart for correct finger placement for each note. This recorder uses German fingering.

Operating (Playing)
- Embouchure: Place the mouthpiece gently between your lips, covering it just enough to create a seal. Do not bite down on the mouthpiece.
- Breathing: Use a steady, gentle stream of air. Avoid blowing too hard, which can cause a harsh or squeaky sound.
- Fingering: Cover the holes completely with the pads of your fingers. Even a small gap can prevent the note from sounding correctly. Use the fingering chart as your guide.
- Articulation: Use your tongue to start each note, as if saying "doo" or "too."

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Squeaky or Harsh Sound | Blowing too hard; improper embouchure; moisture in windway. | Blow more gently; adjust lip position; clean the windway. |
| No Sound or Weak Sound | Finger holes not completely covered; recorder not fully assembled. | Ensure all finger holes are sealed; check that joints are securely connected. |
| Notes are Out of Tune | Incorrect finger placement; temperature changes; blowing too hard/soft. | Verify fingering with chart; allow recorder to adjust to room temperature; maintain consistent breath support. |
