This image visually guides the user through the four essential steps for setting up the docking station: inserting the HDD, connecting the USB cable, connecting the power adapter, and turning on the power switch.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Data Transfer Mode

Once the docking station is connected to your computer and powered on, the inserted hard drives will appear as removable drives in your operating system (e.g., "This PC" on Windows, "Finder" on Mac). You can then drag and drop files, copy, paste, or perform any standard file management operations.

For new hard drives, they may need to be initialized and formatted before they appear in your file explorer. Refer to Section 6.3 for detailed instructions on hard drive initialization.

6.2 Offline Clone Function

The offline clone function allows you to duplicate a source hard drive to a target hard drive without needing a computer connection. This is ideal for system backups or upgrading to a larger drive.

Important: The target disk capacity must be equal to or larger than the source disk capacity. Any data on the target disk will be erased during the cloning process.

  1. Prepare Drives: Ensure both the source drive (Disk 1) and target drive (Disk 2) are inserted correctly into their respective slots.
  2. Disconnect from PC: Disconnect the USB data cable from your computer. The docking station should only be connected to its power adapter.
  3. Initiate Clone: Press and hold the "Clone" button for approximately 3 seconds until the blue LED indicators (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) begin to flash.
  4. Confirm Clone: Briefly press the "Clone" button again to confirm the cloning process. The LEDs will start to illuminate sequentially, indicating progress.
  5. Completion: Once all four blue LEDs are solid, the cloning process is complete.
  6. Post-Clone: After cloning, connect the docking station back to your computer. If the target disk is larger than the source disk, you may need to use Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (Mac) to extend the partition to utilize the full capacity.
