2. Safety Information
WARNING: Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations, and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
General Power Tool Safety Warnings
- Work Area Safety: Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
- Electrical Safety: Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces.
- Personal Safety: Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. Always wear eye protection, dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection as appropriate for the conditions.
- Power Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack, if detachable, from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
Circular Saw Specific Safety Warnings
- Cutting Procedure: DANGER: Keep hands away from cutting area and the blade. Keep your second hand on the auxiliary handle, or motor housing. If both hands are holding the saw, they cannot be cut by the blade.
- Guard Operation: Never wedge open the lower guard. Always check the lower guard for proper closing before each use.
- Kickback Prevention: Maintain a firm grip on the saw with both hands and position your body and arm to allow you to resist kickback forces. Kickback is the result of misuse or incorrect operating procedures.

4.2 Blade Installation
Always ensure the tool is switched off and batteries are removed before installing or changing the blade.
- Lift the blade guard and use the provided wrench to loosen the arbor bolt.
- Remove the outer flange and old blade.
- Clean the arbor and flanges.
- Place the new 7-1/4" blade onto the arbor, ensuring the teeth are pointing in the direction of rotation (indicated by an arrow on the saw).
- Replace the outer flange and securely tighten the arbor bolt with the wrench. Do not overtighten.
4.3 Adjusting Cutting Depth and Bevel Angle
Adjust the cutting depth to be slightly deeper than the material being cut for optimal performance and safety. The bevel angle can be adjusted for angled cuts.
- Depth Adjustment: Loosen the depth adjustment lever, move the base to the desired depth, and tighten the lever.
- Bevel Adjustment: Loosen the bevel adjustment lever, tilt the saw to the desired angle (up to 50 degrees), and tighten the lever.
5. Operation
5.1 Basic Cutting Procedures
Before starting, ensure your workpiece is securely clamped and you have a clear line of sight for the cut.
- Hold the saw firmly with both hands, one on the main handle and the other on the auxiliary handle.
- Depress the safety button and then pull the trigger switch to start the saw. Allow the blade to reach full speed before engaging the material.
- Guide the saw smoothly through the material, maintaining a consistent speed. Do not force the saw.
- Upon completing the cut, release the trigger switch. The electric brake will quickly stop the blade.
