4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Preparing the Vacuum Sealing Bag
- Use only Gorenje vacuum sealing bags or compatible bags designed for vacuum sealing.
- Ensure the bag is clean and dry, especially the area to be sealed.
- Leave at least 3 inches (7.5 cm) of space between the food and the top of the bag to allow for proper vacuuming and sealing.
- For moist foods, pre-freeze or place a paper towel inside the bag to absorb excess liquid.
4.2 Vacuum Sealing Process
- Place the open end of the bag into the vacuum chamber, ensuring it lies flat across the sealing bar. The bag opening should be fully inside the vacuum chamber.
- Close the lid firmly until you hear a click on both sides, indicating it is securely locked.
- Press the "Vacuum & Seal" button. The appliance will automatically remove air from the bag and then initiate the sealing process.
- Once the sealing process is complete, the indicator light will turn off.
- Press the release buttons (if present, typically on the sides) to open the lid and remove the sealed bag.
- Inspect the seal. If the seal is not perfect, cut off the old seal and repeat the process.
4.3 Seal Only Function
This function is used to create a seal without vacuuming, useful for making custom-sized bags from a roll or sealing delicate items.
- Place the open end of the bag across the sealing bar, ensuring it is positioned correctly.
- Close the lid firmly until it clicks.
- Press the "Seal Only" button. The appliance will heat the sealing bar to create a seal.
